We needed Davis to play defense, attack the hoop, defensive rebound, pass the ball.

My concern, once again, is that he's too in love with his jumper and he doesn't box a man out properly.  Yes he hit some jumpers last night, but like Antoine Walker, he falls in love with it and forgets that he's a 35% jump shooter.  He did well the couple of times he attacked the hoop (which Green should do too instead of settle for jumpers).  I still don't get why he doesn't box out properly and instead stands next to the hoop expecting to out-jump everyone.

I can't wait for Jermaine to get some more minutes, and for Shaq to come back.  Our interior defense, both on dribble penetration & Duncan post ups, was awful when Davis was in there.  He had the one charge, but other than that he was mismatched and couldn't slow anyone down.

Baby can be a bit of a ball hog sometimes, but I have no problem with the shots he took last night.  It wasn't more than anyone else who played major minutes and they were all in the flow of the offense.  And he grabbed some clutch rebounds too.  Good job by Baby last night, we really needed him to step up and he did, as he usually does in big games.

I have criticized him harshly, in this thread as well, but he played a better game last night. He did take more shots inside, and the ones he took from the outside seemed to be in the flow. He also was taking a step/dribble towards the basket before shooting as well which made most of them more in his range.

Didn’t love his inability to rebound at times. They got a fair amount of second chance points due to him not boxing out, but all in all I can live with that BBD. Sadly we only see that about one out of 5 games lately and that is more like the early years BBD than the last couple of seasons. Keep it up Glen and change our minds.

When KG got into foul trouble early the team didn't skip a beat or lose its rhythm while BBD was on the floor. However i felt Doc left him in a bit to long during one period.I could tell Baby was winded and thats when he's more apt to take shots out of rhythm. He played well dispite a few slip ups on the defensive end as EJ has already pointed out...tp's for Bankshot & EJ.

That's because the shots went in.  Big Baby's game is all or nothing.  Each night it's a flip of a coin for what we're gonna get from him.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I will take it...Doc just needs to let him know when he is having those off nights to get back down to earth.

He's got "Antoine's disease":  Make a few jumpers and fall in love with it.  It was nice that they were going in last night, but he's the worst jump shooter on the team (I'm not making that up).  If he attacked the rim more often he'd have fewer awful games.

Davis has been pretty consistent all season save for a poor February.

Baby isn't perfect for this system, in this system you have to rebound after defending the ball. You can't allow second chance points ruining defense perfectly being played. Don't act like it doesn't happen when he's in the game or better yet never happened in last year's Finals. He had ok game, but don't throw him parade when you know his limitations make scores closer than they should be. If he attacked the rim more? We all know what he doesn't wanna lead the lead in, c'mon now.

Do you think Baby learned his ill advised jumpers from KG? Why the double standard here?

How about because KG is a better shooter? How about because KG is a hall of famer? How about because KG shoots within his range?

BBD returned to form tonight. Poor shooting and shot selection, no rebounding. We got destroyed on the boards because he refuses to box out... Just like that last Horford tip in. About one good game out of five is about right...

Edit.. Let's add that three at the end with PP wide open on the wing with both hands in the air. Selfish play...

Baby wasn't even in the paint to box Horford out, he had switched out to guard Hinrich....Ray Allen was late on the rotation after KG left Horford to contest the Johnson floater.

KG also has to take the shots down the stretch instead of passing it to Baby at the last second.

I think Baby had like 4 shots down the stretch of the 4th quarter and that was the result of overpassing by our Big 4.

We should be getting the ball to the Big 3 and once one of them has it, they shouldn't give it up to someone other than another Big 3.

Celtics lose game in 4th qt. Big baby tied with Pierce for most shots in the qt. with 5.  All jumpers all misses.  shocker

LB3533- you said one thing right and that was that bbd wasnt even in the paint to box out Horford. Exactly the problem. Go back and watch that play again and you'll see bbd standing right behind Horford when he tips it in. Go ahead and blame ray though...

Can't keep putting the blame Baby, by now Doc has got to get a clue. He should know what Baby offers the other four players. Baby wants to be a hero. At least I know not to take C's serious after I find out Baby is starting, don't matter how weak their opponent.
