I am done watching big baby.  He may get his stats but he takes way to many bad shots for my liking.  ( not just that 3 at the end )  I truely believe he is more about his stats then about the team.  When was the last time he stepped in for a charge.  I see A.Walker all over again.  I hope that danny see the same and trades him this offseason.

Nah not really. I am not upset of how he is on D its his offense that i have a problem with.  I think he takes a lot of bad shots and hurts the flow of the passing...IMO

Maybe what he said proves my theory more.  Maybe BBD is so busy on trying to be "THE GUY" for the 2nd unit and not just playing his roll.

What exactly are bad shots for BBD?

The contested 3 pointer is the only real "bad shot" I saw from BBD this last game.

I don't think he really hits a lot of the "KG" shots from a foot or two inside the arc. He's standing unguarded, he gets the ball and he shoots. Can't he just be standing a step or two closer to the basket? He'll still be left alone for the most part.

These points have already been broughton. This forum ain't try'n to hear all that though. You need to come with a Rondo gripe for them to analies. Like Sean Grande said last night this team all season would get out early on teams, but fight hard at the end to hold on to win. Even though Sean is a huge Baby fan, it's actually Baby he's mentioning. Once Doc puts in Baby the lead that Semih or Shaq helped make either disappears or a miss let us off the hook.

Pretty sure he's a free agent, so he won't be traded. And unless Krstic pulls a 180 we'll be seeing a fair amount of Baby for the rest of the year.

Just to hear the misdirection plays that were suppose to go to Ray Allen and he took bugs me. The last one was drawn for Ray after a timeout. He can apologies all wants, but he'll do it again. This wasn't the first time but maybe the second apology.

The worst one of the night was a baseline drive by Ray from the left corner with the court spaced and Baby in the right corner.  Baby's man is under the basket and immediately runs to help when Ray beats his man on the first step.  There is nobody within probably 18 feet of Baby and he has a wide open lane to the basket but he just stands there 20 feet from the basket and watches Ray drive to the hoop completely drawing his man's attention.  When Ray dishes him the ball and he sees that the open lane which has been there for a good 3-4 seconds is still there, he simply bricks the 20 footer.

I consider all of Baby's shots bad when he's shooting 20-30% for the game and yet they keep coming from further and further away.  If he's not having a good night then he should be passing ball not taking 10-15 shots, and he should be passing the ball more in general instead of being the ball-stopper he's been.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

His efg% for jumpshots is 35% on the season.  That is not only the lowest of anyone on the team who gets more than 6 minutes a game (yes, it's lower than Rondo's 40%), but its lower than the team average of every team in the league.  Every.

I'm not suggesting to play him less, I am suggesting he start slashing to the hoop.  Or have Doc run different plays.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
If it weren't for Big Baby's improved jumpshot and his ability to get the hole, this team wouldn't make the finals this year.
Nor would they have made the finals in 08 or last year.

The guy is 1st/2nd for 6th man of the year.
Stop hating and give respect where it's due.

This is complete revisionist history.  1)  See my post above about his jumpshot.  If we're relying on 35% (worst on the team) to get to the finals then we're sunk already.  2)  Davis was not even remotely crucial to our '08 finals appearance.

Call it whatever you want. These are plain and simple facts that you can ignore if you want.
Without him- no 08' championship.
Without him last year- no finals.
Without him this year- no finals.

The guy almost got us through in 09 when KG was out.
It was that same jumpshot that got us through vs the Bulls if you remember too?

He is number 1 or 2 for 6th man of the year.
The above isn't revisionist history, it's the unfortunate truth that his doubters have to accept.

Yep.  and that 3 that he took was on Rondo, not Baby.  Rondo dribbled out the shot clock and passed to Baby with what? 4 seconds left?  If Baby had passed it to someone who wasn't really open to shoot an even more desperation shot you would have been mad at him for that.
"If somebody would have told you when he was playing with the Knicks that Nate Robinson was going to change a big time game and he was going to do it mostly because of his defense, somebody would have got slapped."  Mark Jackson

no 08 championship??? really??? as far as i recall, guys like Rondo, Perk, KG, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, Leon Powe, James Posey, Eddie House and PJ Brown played a bigger role than BBD in that 08 championship.
