If you depend on a miracle every year, you will be disappointed. If you expect a huge midseason trade not to have an impact on the chemistry of your team and cause problems you will be disappointed. This looks and feels much different than last year.

Last year wasn't a miracle. And when you say it feels different from last year I assume you mean better.

decidedly not better in terms of personnel. at the moment both the starting and bench units were better last season.

Rondo
Ray
PP
KG
Perk

Nate
TA
BBD
Sheed

Those units make way more sense in terms of what we do and what we need to be successful.

Nate was bad last year, Delonte should be better. Sheed was pretty bad in the playoffs. You spent all of last year decrying the fact that we didn't have a long backup wing who could shoot with range instead of TA, and we do now. And if Shaq comes back we'll probably have a better starting lineup this year as well.

No. I mean a team with no dependable healthy center and a team shaken up big time with 27 games left in the season.

Oh. I don't think it was a huge shakeup, we traded Perk and not much else. It looks worse now because they're trying to get all of the new guys used to the system, but it's likely that Green and a few minutes a game from Krstic or Murphy will be about all we'll be seeing from all the new guys in the playoffs.

yeah, but when is that gonna START happening because it needs to already be the case...

This team is capable of scoring but til Doc puts the right players on the court(not totally his fault with missing players), no we won't be scoring like when all four centers started. Krstic and yes Baby don't get enough stops to generate more baskets. We need to be patient with Mayor Shaq, let him rehab and get in better shape and make rounds all around the city when he should be...where was I? Patience, yeah it'll be much better if he's in better shape. Anybody else hear Rasheed laughing somewhere?

I would expect the team to start using the playoff rotation in the, er, playoffs. Do we want the starters playing big minutes now?

Sheed was bad in the playoffs last year?? whaat??  :-X

This team is in trouble right now and it starts with Ronda.. I mean Rondo. Something must be wrong because he is playing like garbage. Yeah he had double digit assists tonight, but how many rushed & bad shots did we have because he didnt make good decisions out there.

I liked seeing the delonte, bbd, jg, allen, kg lineup out there.. i wish doc would have let that run a little more. Rondo needs some time out to recoup because this offense has been going no where fast lately.

I just don't understand how people expect Shaq to be at full speed after missing more than two months if he does not play before the playoffs. As for JO, he has played 14 games, or is it 17, and I don't think he is going to offer much. I hope I am totally wrong.  Basically you are integrating 5 guys into the lineup -- Green, Krstic, Shaq, Delonte and JO -- who are all new either because of a trade or because of injuries. This is why I believe the Celts will have trouble getting out of the East.

The D is still good.

Oh and if we don't trade we have the 5 and a bench of BBD, West and Chris Johnson, Luke Harrongody and some other guys from the CBA.

I do not decry a back up SF/PF at the cost of a starting center.

honestly, Shaq needs to ALREADY be back for that trade to make sense because KG is getting way too burnt out for the point in the season.

when is Shaq gonna say enough with this and get his behind back on the floor. KG needs some freaking back up!

plus I think you are once again underrating how benches play. you did it with Pose and PJ and now you are doing it with Sheed and Nate....

I actually agree that KG is starting to look a little worse for wear. He has had some great games, but he is less consistent these days. Not a good sign. He is the only tough inside guy on the team and has been since the trade and Shaq's injury.

My guess is they could have made other trades/signings to beef up the bench. Just sayin'.

So if you're worried about KG needing rest, how would he have been looking if we hadn't made the trade? No Krstic, no Green, no Perk for most of the time. Things would be worse now, including our record.

And how is the bench going to do this year compared to how Nate and Sheed did?

Sigh. They're all playing fewer minutes than they do during the playoffs. Do you not understand that?
