I mean, you've got one of the greatest clutch shooters in the game and the best three-point shooter of all time on the floor, and Big Baby and Rondo take the last big shots?!? What horrible execution and decision-making. Not smart basketball at all.

Rondo really needs to realize his limitations.  He took the most shots tonight, and went 2-12.  His shot selection is so poor and in crunch time he absolutely has no clue what to do.  I feel like his inability to shoot free throws really hurts his game because it limits him.  He chooses not to go to the hole and take the contact but shoot a 20 footer and brick it every time.  And why do we have BBD in the game when we're down by 3? Hello? Jeff Green? Troy Murphy? Pavlovic? West? SO many other choices but no, Doc puts in BBD to shoot a 3.

100%

Even if I think Doc didn't want BBD to shoot the ball. But yes, what about Green and West to have other choices besides Ray and Paul on the floor????
The Celtic in me.

  • Rondo = Good
i am so sick of this team

. . . and we're starting to get back to where we were this time last year.

sure sign that we're ready for the post-season!

I wish people would STOP saying this. We are NOT the same team we were this time last year.

I didn't mean we were the same team (though we're similar); I meant us fans are going through some of the same emotions.  It's time for the post-season.

While I agree it was odd not to have Murph or Green in, I guarantee you Doc never even came close to drawing up "Baby for three."

Stupid loss. I don't mind losing, it happens. But losing stupid sucks. A lot.
You know what i meant.  In a situation where we need a 3 to tie, it's just not a smart decision to have BBD in the game, that's all.  I would even rather have KG take it than BBD.

How can anyone hate on Rondo for this game, he was close to a quad-double and if that floater gone in, which usually they do for him, he would have been a god on this board and cause he missed it's a bad shot? Good shot, sucks that he missed.

He does it all the time and Rondo cannot shoot. He has no business taking those types of shots in late game situations.

If I'm being honest I'm quite scared of the post season. I was previously excited but now I'm just dreading what could possibly happen. I would LOVE to be wrong though.

It's too bad this Memphis team has never given us trouble before, that's what makes this so hard to swallow...

Well no probably not but even Doc just said that he thought Rondo was going to pass it to Paul but didn't and took the shot. Said it wasn't a bad shot cause he was open and said it's easy to second guess things.

Do I want Rondo to shoot the last shot of the game? No, but he has made those runners before, it's one of the few shots he can hit and he didn't. I guess what I'm trying to say is while it's not a good shoot it's not horrible. Scale of 1-10 it was a 6.5 or a 7 but at the end of the game you want a 10.

Exactly. It was just a bad loss. Memphis played hard the whole game, and the Celtics only played for about two-thirds of the game. The Grizzlies interior played MUCH better than our guys. Krstic got owned today. He was hesitant on offense and a liability on defense. 4 turnovers in 21 minutes. Murphy had 2 turnovers in 4 minutes.

Take a look at our bench. Who can you put in? Green and West are the only people we can trust right now. Where was Arroyo tonight? Well.. I imagine he is a defensive liability just like everyone else who's new. The Celtics have major bench issues.

i think people assuming this team is just going to flip a switch come playoff time might be disappointed. since the trade this team has shown really nothing. they get down by 15 plus in the first half and lose very close in the end.

the offense is not good at all. we don't know what the o'neals will bring if anything..

EVERY contender is hitting their stride..except the celtics

you must have forgot how they blew us out last season at home or how we had to go to overtime to beat them earlier in the year

i don't know why everyone is getting all worked up about the bad shot selection by Baby and Rondo - the point should be that the game should never have been that close to begin with. since the trade, our interior defense has declined significantly and suddenly we can't score because our offensive rhythm is all out of whack.
