Did anyone see Rose vs the Hawks?
6/8 from three
11/20 from the field
10 assists.
What a beast.
I think he might've locked up the award with that one right there.
Come on. That's close to what LeBron has averaged this year.
6/8 from the three with 10 assists and a landslide win?
Dunno bout that. Rose's game comes at a crucial time when EVERYONE is watching while the Bulls fight the Celtics for seed 1 in the East vs a tough playoff opponent.
He gets brownie points with the voters for this one.
Perfect timing and fantastic game.
You're trying to say this isn't going to get noticed? come on.
Lebron averaged 31 points-a-game in January. He's averaging 26.4 on the whole season. 30 points is not a stretch for LeBron and he's also shooting 50% on the year.
When Rose scores 30 and shoots 50% from the field over a decidedly mediocre team (terrible since the All-Star break) it's a game that has "locked the MVP".
Two games ago, against the exact same team, LeBron scored 43 on 21 shots in 31 minues in a 21-point-blow out and no one bats an eye-lash.
Ok, so lets go over this again.
six from eight from the three. repeat...six from eight.
he sat the entire 4th quarter.
this game was much more important in the scheme of things with the race for first seed.
I'm not saying that Lebron isn't a monster but Roses 6/8 from the three +10 assists and 30 points total is extremely eye catching at this point in the season.
If you're denying that then you're kidding yourself.
I don't think that what soap is saying is that Rose's stats from the other night weren't eye catching, they were. Helluva game, in my opinion.
But let's face facts, post ASG, LeBron has been AVERAGING 27 PPG, 7.5 RPG, 5.5 APG while shooting 55%. He's had some freakishly amazing single game stats as well. Like his 51 point, 11 rebound, 8 assist game versus Orlando.
soap, and I, just don't think that because Rose had a great game signifies he should have wrapped up the MVP. Honestly, I don't even think he deserves it. I don't see Rose as being any more of an MVP type candidate as Kobe or LeBron. All three are surrounded by talent and all three have fairly similar stats.
Dwight Howard on the other hand is on a team where the second best player is Jameer Nelson, a guy who might not even be a top 15 player at his position, and he is putting up 23PPG, 14 RPG, 2.4 BPG, while shooting 60% and being the runaway Defensive Player of the Year award winner. Take him off that Orlando team and they struggle to win 25 games. Instead they are going to win over 50 and be a 4th seed in the East.
Howard is the deserving MVP this year.
