Rose.

Dwight and Lebron have lead their teams to disappointing seasons.

Disappointing season? Lebron yes, Howard no. Just imagine how bad the Magic would be without Howard. How good should they really be when Jameer Nelson is their second best player? IMHO, Dwight should be MVP, but Rose's hype and the Bulls turn around make him the sexy pick.

Rose is gonna get it because Chicago has become the NBA's newest media darling. Of course he means a lot to his team, but Dwight is doing it all right now trying to keep Orlando amongst the elite. Otis Smith has really done a terrible job, putting even more pressure on Dwight, especially on the offensive end.

MVP and COTY from the same team? Rarely does that happen, but it appears it will this season.

Rose winning this year, and he will, really has the feel of a Steve Nash MVP winning type year. Really doesn't deserve it but because the media just absolutely LOVES PGs and over hypes their importance to winning basketball, Rose will get it.

Rose will get MVP.  He has Chicago tied for 1st in the East, has dealt with running a team missing 2 of its core players for a good portion of the season, has the stats.

Lebron has the stats, but I think the team has underperformed in the eyes of many people.  This was a team that was supposedly going to win 60+ games, and they will probably end up in the 50's.

I just can't see D. Howard getting it.  He has good stats, but I just can't see it.

Speaking of awards....what are KG's chances of getting the DPOY?

Small, Dwight Howard will get that as a consolation prize for not winning the MVP.

The Magic are only 2 points per 100 possessions behind the C's, and Dwight Howard is the only rotation player who gets credit for being a plus defender.

The first two months, he was undoubtedly the best defensive player in the league IMO. Since his calf injury, he was shown flashes of that dominance, but not every game. If we get the same defensive KG we saw earlier this year (and in the playoffs last season) in the playoffs, and his newfound offensive "selfishness," he could be an absolute monster.

But they will probably give it to D12 again. I don't really care and I'm sure KG doesn't either.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Did anyone see Rose vs the Hawks?
6/8 from three
11/20 from the field
10 assists.
What a beast.
I think he might've locked up the award with that one right there.

I don't think this is a Steve Nash type-year at all. Nash's years, from my recollection, were, for a point guard, excellent even on a historical level. At the very least, Nash showed that he was dominant in various aspects of the game and had the ability to elevate the play of those around him (Hello, Shawn Marion and Boris Diaw).

This is more similar to Kobe Bryant two years ago, where the media picked its MVP midway through the season for reasons outside of his play (lifetime achievement award).

Come on. That's close to what LeBron has averaged this year.

I could only give Nash MVP for one of those years.  But you could still make a case he didn't deserve it for either.  Also Jason Kidd when he was in NJ should have won MVP that first year...

Jason Kidd took NJ Nets to the NBA Finals twice and no MVP!!!  So much for media loving PG's.

Dunno bout that. Rose's game comes at a crucial time when EVERYONE is watching while the Bulls fight the Celtics for seed 1 in the East vs a tough playoff opponent.
He gets brownie points with the voters for this one.
Perfect timing and fantastic game.

You're trying to say this isn't going to get noticed? come on.

I think Dwight should get it since he's pretty much put the Magic on his shoulders and made that team a top 4 team (in the east). Rose WILL get it because he's the new hot thing.
