I can't stand his game. He is a Loser, plain and simple.

When he "tries" on defense he simply hacks, that's all he's got.

He's a great scorer sure. But I would rather have Wilson Chandler or Gallanari on the Celts.

The Knicks got ripped off big time as far as talent and players, and if it wasn't for the Tickets sales aspect, this would be a failure of epic proportions.

Super immature, entitled  little brat.  Can't stand him.

It's easy to see now how much talent the Nuggets had without him, and now when you Add Chandler, Gallo, Mosgov, and Ray Felton, which was more that half of the Knicks talent.

To a team already with JR Smith, Afflalo, Ty Lawson, Nene, Al Harrington, K Martin, Birdman,

You have the deepest team in the game, with two potential starters at every position. And a coach that knows what to do with all the potential combinations .

And throw in  the fact Denver has the Knicks 1st rounder and two more 2nd rounders coming to them via the Warriors. And I say cheers to the Nuggets, I hope they hold on to as much of that talent as they can, and I will be cheering for the best non Superstar team we have seen since the Pistons.

And I hope this hurts the Knicks for years to come.

 Horrible trade! Carmelo = Overrated.

I see where you are coming from but can't we say the same about Pierce prior to the big 3 era? The thing with super stars is that they'll eventually realize, through the hard way, that in order to win you have to play a team game and readjust your playing style. Melo will figure it out soon. I still hate Lebron more...

Melo is a loser, plain and simple?

That must explain why he went from leading his high-school team to a championship, to carrying Syracuse to a national title, to immediately making the Denver Nuggets into perennial play-off contenders from his first year in the league and every year of his career so far.

He's a purebred winner, if anything, and shouldn't be the one taking the blame for the Knicks gutting their roster. If you want to blame anyone, blame Donnie Walsh.

Blame James Dolan actually, from what I understand Donnie Walsh was against giving up that much for Carmelo.

I don't think the Knicks aren't going anywhere as long as D'Antoni is around. Carmelo and Amare are very talented offensive players but they're never going to commit to defense and start winning with that system in place. I'll start to worry if Chris Paul ever shows up and they hire a decent coach, until then they won't be an elite team in the east.

The Knicks need to fire Mike D'Antoni and bring in a defensive orientated head coach like Jeff Van Gundy for that mix of players to work to their full capacity.

That Knicks personnel + Mike D'Antoni makes for an ugly mix.

Actually, I disagree.  D'Antoni is perfect for this team.  They don't have one guy who I would call a great defender.  Billups was decent back in his Pistons days but he's lost a step.  As a C's fan, I like the Knicks just the way they are.   8)

That's what happens when you bring a ball-stopper in on a seven sec. or less offense.  We all saw this coming in one form or another.

Melo is this generations Dominique Wilkins  ;)

Yep.  He is a great scorer and he would be an amazing one on one player.  But NBA offenses stagnate every time he catches the ball and does his thing.  Amare can take 35 shots and not do as much damage to the offense because he catches and immediately finishes.

Maybe Anthony was so talented that he was a big winner in high school and college.  He is more talented than most in the NBA but I would say he is far from a winner in the NBA.  He is a high scoring defenseless ball hog who lacks the all around grit of the real NBA winners.

I disagree on Pierce part. Paul had/has much more trust in his teammates, and he had guys like D-West, Telfair, Wally, Ricky etc. I think Melo is an amazing offensive talent, but a ball hogg and that makes your team suffer sooner or later.

Carmelo is more like his generations world b free  ;D
He is a great offensive player, useless on defense and does seem to hog the ball a bit much
I was trying to compare him to a young pierce who tended to hold the ball a lot more back in the early years but pauls defense was far better

Nuggets are much better /happy / dangerous team without Melo.

The nuggets are playing some of the best TEAM basketball in the NBA and are a pleasure to watch.  I never cared to watch them when Melo was there. Boring.

Heat and Knick basketball is type , no substance. Bunches of ballhogs w/bigheads all thrown on the same teams with weak coaching.  *SUCK*

I knew the game was over last night with about 4 minutes left when the Celtics were ratcheting up the intensity and attacking the rim, while Melo and the Knicks were smirking, rolling their eyes, and whining to the officials in between chucking bad jumpers.  One of those is how champions react to adversity, the other is how the Miami Heat do it.  Except the Heat are more talented than the Knicks and play defense.

Melo's not a loser; his resume smacks that argument down pretty quickly.  But he doesn't have that killer instinct either.  It's like the 2-on-2 tournament in White Men Can't Jump: some guys play better when they're mad, but Melo plays worse.  So I'm glad we can get under his skin.

Really? aren't you the same guy that posted this?

Does Pierce have a no trade? If not, Pierce has a reasonable contract. The Nuggets would still be pretty good over the next three years, while they would have six first rounders in three years to be able to revamp that old team.

For us we get what we really need. A twenty six year old superstar. Rondo and Carmelo would be spectacular together.
And Ray, Kevin, Jermaine, Shaq, Nate, Baby, and eventually Perk.
We would be the favorites no question next year. I love Pierce but to get Melo, Gotta do it.
a complete flip in your opinion of Melo in less than a year.  This would be one of those times I wish they still allowed TP's to be taken away.

^ This why do we want to see them succeed.  They are in our division.  I hope they never "figure it out"

Lately, several members have seemingly forgotten CelticsBlog's rules and standards of decorum.  There have been literally dozens of posts along the lines of "This thread should be deleted" / "This thread is moronic" / "I wish we could give negative TPs.".......
if you personally attack somebody by using language of the type cited above, you will be suspended.  It doesn't matter if this is a first offense, it doesn't matter if 14 other people in the thread were doing the same thing.  Point blank, suspensions will be given, no exceptions.

Nobody is happy about this solution, but we've been left with no choice.  If people don't want to comply with the rules, and want to repeatedly ignore staff warnings, then we're going to have to be stricter in our enforcement.  We appreciate the hundreds and thousands of members who are able to disagree civilly; for those who can't, it's time to modify your behavior, or move on.
As a reminder for everyone.
