I was wondering, after Shaq went down and before Perk came back, the Celtics started BBD. Our Interior defense was still great. I think the problem (other than Rondo) is our interior defense is SOFT!!!! Would it benefit the Celtics to start BBD instead of Kristic? Now saying that, once Shaq comes back, We all know that Kristic will go back to the bench.

Let me know what you think about starting BBD, instead of Kristic, which might make it a smoother transition when Shaq comes back into the starting lineup?
I think if we move BBD into the starting lineup, he knows both systems compared to Kristic who has only 3-4 weeks of this new system. PLUS he's gonna have to get used to playing off the bench when Shaq comes back...

When Doc has KG, Baby and a center available he likes to have Baby on the bench to be able to sub either spot. I'm pretty sure he's started Semih over Davis a few times, I doubt if Krstic is any different.

Davis has shown time and time again that he's better when coming off the bench.  He did poorly the last stretch of games that he started.

I do agree about our interior being soft.  Unfortunately without Shaq & Jermaine it'll stay this way.  We just have to hang on and hope for as many wins as possible.

Exactly.  I also think Doc thinks of Baby as being crucial to the bench rotation.  I think he really does not like to start him, because it leaves them without much of an inside presence off the bench.

As far as interior toughness goes, I think it looks much worse than it really is right now, because of the overall lack of defense.  Everyone's rotations have been sloppy, and the perimeter defense has been very weak in general, forcing KG and Krstic to come out and help a lot more often.

Once Rondo, Pierce, and Allen crack down a bit more defensively (they have all been cruising a bit), then it will make life a lot easier on Krstic and KG.

In the past, Doc has liked to keep players in their "roles", so I'm guessing that Krstic will start until Shaq gets back.  I do agree (like others) that Krstic's defense is soft, though.

I'll be happy when Krstic buried on the bench once Shaq and JO come back, to be honest.

The guy is incredibly soft, players dont respect him, and he offers no inside presence, even Grant Hill tired to dunk on him. Grant Hill.

Yep. Baby gets overexcited and somehow makes himself the first  offensive option when he starts, which drives Doc crazy.  Krstic's had a little dip in the last couple of games, but if the other starters do their part and he doesn't get into foul trouble, Krstic's generally coming along on the defense.

He should not be anywhere near hall of famers, especially when they're trying to win a NBA championship. Doc never started Baby over Semih unless he was hurt. Semih was underrated because this ran a lot with him as center, even though he didn't have the numbers. We never got off to these bad starts with Semih, I miss that dude

Krstic was owned by Jordan and now Ronny Turiaf. Two players that can't score for squat. He made them both look like all-stars.He is almost as bad defensively as Semih. Shaq, please hurry back.

DeAndre Jordan of the Clippers. He scored like 20 points or some crazy number like that. That guy should never be able to score 20 so easily with his limited offensive skills. Krstic made him look like prime David Robinson.

that's why Baby usually closes out games even when he does not start. but yeah, Doc likes to keep guys in their roles...

I'm sure he's got his fingers crossed for a return of Bigger Baby...

Krstic might be one of the worst defensive big men I have ever seen.

KG better give him an earful.

How are you a center but you leave Turiaf wide open for easy unconsted dunks then look around like someone else was supposed to be guarding him?

Your a center, stick close to the opposing big man, and dont let him get any easy dunks/layups.

Seriously Krstic is so inept at defense it boggles my mind.

Why is our center out at the freethrow line but Turiaf is dunking the ball right underneath the basket with nobody on him?

So frustrating. He looks like a chicken with its head cut off on defenese.
