Andrew Bynum would have had some problems if he had tried a move like that under the dim lights at the playground.  Yeah, he probably would have missed a couple of games...

If it was Perkins or Shaq, we would call it a 'hard foul in a chippy game'.

Personally I love seeing that stuff. Hard fouls, cheap shots, clotheslines, bring it on, man.
If that was Shaq they would've called it a flagrant 3.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I wouldn't and everyone knows my bias towards Shaq! Bynum didn't go for the ball at all! Shaq may give you a blow to make you think for a while but he doesn't just go full force into you with his elbow not even trying for the ball... if he did, you would have seen deaths, not a fall and bounce back! You can't really believe that was just a "hard foul"... he tried to take him out.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Oh absolutely. Me personally I grew up playing football and moved on to rugby in college. I've always been more of a fan of full contact basketball than finesse and fireworks. Bynum bodychecked a dude in the air..its a dirty play, and he deserves a suspension.

But I really doubt if a Celtic did it there would be be a huge outcry here. People still commend McHale's clothesline. KG was sticking his foot out on jumpers earlier in the season (and FTR, I think that's the dirtiest play in basketball).

He did that same thing to Gerald Wallace and broke his ribs

Lakers are the definition of dirty. No surprise there

Lakers vs Timberwolves Andrew Bynum's Flagrant Foul on Michael Beasley March 18 2011 (HQ)

Check out what Lamar Odom does after Beasley was knocked down.

The best part is the announcer starting at 0:13.

"By the way, Artest is not on the floor now"

I like that there's a little scuffle and the announcer wants to clarify it's not because of Artest.

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

So KG having his foot underneath someone once means he did it all the time? Since when? Geesh

Bynum was kicked out for 2 games name an incident C's have done this year that would constitute a 2 game suspention. What Bynum did was worse.

No attempt to play the ball. Deserved to be suspended.

They should probably lengthen the suspensions in cases like this. Two regular season games is fairly meaningless.

Seriously, if that was KG, the sportscenter would be an hour long show with Jalen Rose, Tim Legler and all the morons saying what they have to say about the incident.

I thought he meant he was in the stands.  ;)

  • Another undersized Celtic...
He could have seriously hurt Beasley--the punishment was appropriate in my eyes. I don't mind seeing guys hit the floor, and would like to see our guys institute the no lay ups rule, but they gotta be going for the ball! That was a punk move that could fuel a "dirty player" tag on Bynum.

Absolutely. This move kind of reminds me of when Odom body slammed Ray with his shoulder back in the 08 finals. (I don't know why, just the fact that it's the Lakers)
That move p---ed me off so much but Odom got no suspension for it.

That was a regular season game (the one where the lakers wore the short shorts from the 80's in the first half).  The worst part of that play wasn't that Odom didn't get suspended but that they called a double technical on Odom and Ray.
