I think Green has been okay and good for a bench player, but I guess I am not as blown away as others are by his performance so far. He has shooting 52 percent from the field and averaging 11.5 points per game in 23 minutes, which is good. On the other hand, he is averaging slightly over 2 rebounds per game. has .3 assists per game and his defense is okay, but nothing to go crazy about. So, while the scoring has been good, I have not been overly excited about everything else. Not sure what I am missing.
Im pretty sure the celtics poor play as a team is effecting how the other guys are playing.
Guys like West and Baby will play hard no matter what to "get theirs"
Green seems like hes still trying to feed off of the starters, and will play well if the starters play well.
We cant ask him to come in when hes just sat and watch the starters put up a craptastic effort and are down by 17 when Green comes in, that has to effect his psyche somewhat.
Like Doc said earlier, "the new guys and the bench need to come in and not think." When they come into the game and were losing, they start thinking, and in turn play worse.
Thats a quote from Doc and I agree with him. Green should be able to come in and just play off talent and instinct and not have to think about making a fool of himself.
