  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Cant believe some people on here thought Rondo was the best player on this team, hes 4th best at most, and if Jeff Green plays to his potential hes better then Rondo also.
If he's the 4th best why are we in a slump whhilst he's playing bad?
Sometimes i wonder if you make posts on this board just to stir people up.

Please think about the past 3 years and compare our success with how well rondo has played and distributed the ball.
reality check bra.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

Read that last line again. One more time.

Krstic and Baby can give you huge games and this team will lose. Doc should be playing both of them together because these two don't work well with our starters at all. Court chemistry has  worked with Green in with starters, but typical Doc ditches that to leave either Krstic or Baby on the floor. You aren't giving starters a chance, then blame Rondo and offense. Keep blaming Rondo back stabbers, but as Rondo goes....forget you haters. When Ray's off nothing, Pierce 7pts tonight not a peep.

Wow looking at some of the posts in this thread you would think the season is over and we're terrible lol i could care less about chicago or miami right now they're still unproven and I know what this team is capable of. We can still play defense (ex yesterday vs bucks)the nets just went ham from 3 I'm not gonna lose sleep over this game

Well we've got a pretty tough road trip coming up and a hungry Pacers team on Wed. Let's hope we're not losing sleep then...

  • Let's Go Celtics!
Nobody cares if he's making jumpshots, we care about his mentalty and body langugage and effort on both ends. We know that he is capable of producing trpl-dbl numbers and time he want's to.
What bothers me is his careless cocky look he has ever since Perk shiped out. Get over it
Rondo has been awful and not the same since the Perk trade, doubt many agree but it's pretty clear.

I've noticed a lot tonight, Rondo frontrimmed almost all of his jumpers this game - typically a sign of tired legs/feet. There was a few shots he contested where he got no lift all. I don't think it's purely physical, but I wonder. People keep looking for the one reason why he's slumping, but the truth is there seems to be a few things coming down for him right now:

1.) Mental - he could be bummed his best friend got traded. Idk, I'm not in the man's head but a lot fans seem to think this is the case.

2.) Physical - he's played an awful lot of minutes this season, and on bad feet at that. They haven't mentioned his plantar fascitis lately, but that doesn't mean it's not still bothersome.

3.) Ebbs and Flow of the Game - sometimes, guys just get in funks where they can't get a nice rhythm going. Rondo's not the first player this has happened too, and won't be the last. Unfortunate, but true.

Celtics: 8 freethrow attempts
Refs got exactly what they wanted tonight

You can't start Green. We're way too weak in the middle. Baby should start until Shaq is ready. Or start Krstic and bring in Baby pretty early.

I'm confident we can bounce back though some of you guys are irrational the Nets didn't even shoot 40% from the field we didn't play as bad as some of the posters are saying

  • Rondo = Good
The offense is terrible because Rondo is playing terrible.  He's not driving or setting people up. He's just dribbling out the shot clock and bricking shots.  If he doesn't straighten up, Arroyo needs to start.

I disagree about Arroyo starting, but otherwise you're spot on.  Our offense has been terrible lately and Rondo is to blame.  The only thing keeping us in these games is our solid defense and depth.

As if we aren't weak in the middle now? I never said start Green, he should be first off bench for Kristic at least in the second half. I've always said big games by Baby don't impress me when we win by 3pts. Nothing clutch about squeaking by when I believe we're way better than watching other four struggle vs weak opponents. Blaming Rondo like he was never an all-star or rumored(nuts) MVP candidate is fine. Although when the starting 4 struggle even with Baby/Krstic  putting up great numbers, ending game with less than 90 points in losing effort proves just poor court chemistry.

oh, yeah I don't know...I feel like we won't really see the impact of Green until we get our starting unit playing well together. and I don't think that happens until Shaq comes back.

But yeah, the only way to get any value out of this trade is to get Green playing at least 20 MPG...

behind the bulls now and only 2 up on the heat. this is the part of the season where you need to be hitting your stride. 3 of the last 4 games boston has looked lost and not interested. things will need to change or boston is going to find themselves on the road vs miami and the bulls...those 2 teams seem to be getting into a groove

Did the Celtics hit their stride last year at this time?

Have the Celtics already won a 2nd game of a back-to-back this season? They seem to be having trouble on the 2nd night of a back-to-back and I can't seem to recall them winning one yet.

- Nov 2nd (vs Pistons) and Nov 3rd (vs Knicks).

- Dec 8th (vs Nuggets) and Dec 9th (vs 76ers).

- Dec 15th (vs Knicks) and Dec 16th (vs Hawks).

- Jan 2nd (vs Raptors) and Jan 3rd (vs Timberwolves).

All those are games where we won both the first and second of the back-to-back games.

EDIT: If you include a win on the second night of a back-to-back games, i.e. we lose the first game but win the second, then the following game needs to be added to the list too.

- Nov 21 (vs Raptors) and Nov 22 (vs Hawks).

It doesn't help that our rivals this season (the Lakers and Heat) both won games against great teams tonight.

The fact that the Chicago Bulls have been on a tear recently means that they could move into first seed in the East with a win over the Atlanta Hawks tomorrow night. I don't know about y'all, however I'd have to think pretty far back in order to remember the last time that the Chicago Bulls were the 1st seed in the East this late in an NBA season...
