I'm sorry but if Murphy rounds into shape he will not sit in the playoffs! If you remember Murphy was the most coveted pickup for us after the trade... you don't sit a guy that can get you the rebounds and offense Murphy can give you. Rebounds are crucial in the playoffs as you know from last season... if healthy/in shape count on Murphy to snatch some for you... bigs are imperative when we face the best teams! I know Murphy has been pretty bad but last night he seemed to be on the road to rounding back into form... don't underestimate what Murphy CAN provide for us. I believe Wafer, Bradley, and maybe JO will be the odd men out... and JO may ease in if he's healthy leaving Arroyo out if West is healthy b/c West can handle and is a defensive beast... Arroyo is not! I see Arroyo in though if he continues on the good path he is now but only if there are injuries b/c he is known to be a liability on D and Doc/Cs are all about D! To be honest, I think the guys who will play will probably depend on series. Can you interchange players between games or is it just between series? Either way, I feel it will be situational.
The Celtics will most likely go with a four man big rotation in the playoffs with a 5th big on the bench but seeing only emergency action.
So, even if JO is not able to suit up, who does Murphy replace?
Shaq, KG, Krstic, and Baby will all play ahead of him, in my opinion. At full health, I don't see Murphy getting significant time in the post season. Having said that, I do think he needs to round into shape and help us out down the stretch of the regular season considering our injury problems.
If we're still completely sans O'Neals come playoff time, we could be in it pretty deep.
