I am a little confused on how Doc is using our bench.  1st why isn't Murphy getting some more PT.  I know he is not in game shape but don't you have to play in order to get into game shape.  Also I think he is using Green to much at PF which is taking away his minutes from learning the SF position.  Shouldn't Murphy be getting the PF minutes while Baby is out.  While Green can constrating on backing up Pierce and Allen.

What's wrong is that half our team is injured.

I didn't see the game last night ... but I presume Jeff Green (PF) was matched up against Thaddeus Young (PF).

Troy Murphy cannot play effective individual or team defense against a combo forward like Thaddeus Young. On the other end of the floor, T.Young is perfectly able to defend Troy Murphy out on the three point line. Young is simply too quick for him (offensively) and matching them up against one another only serves to give Phily a matchup advantage.

Jeff Green is the better choice matchup wise in that situation

In case you didn't notice we're back down to one big off the bench, and he's not even a great one.  Murphy is not gonna be backing up both C and PF by himself.  Pavlovic is capable of backing up Paul while Green is filling in for Baby.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I haven't liked Doc's lineups lately. Putting Pavlovic in to cover Iguodala at the end was odd. I think Green has been playing too much power forward. The two and three positions should be rotated between Pierce, Allen, and Green, with Green getting spot up minutes at the four. With Glen Davis still out, I'm puzzled that Doc can only find 25 minutes for Jeff Green.

I thought Murphy showed some signs of life for the brief time he was out there last night. But then he didn't play in the second half.

Come playoffs, I think the bench will be shortened to West, Green, Davis, and Krstic. So it is really important to get some cohesion with those four guys. They are going to be huge.

I'd like to see West, Allen, Pierce, Green, and Garnett finish games in the playoffs.

As much as I hate to say it, Doc has to play Murphy. He has not seen much action this season and he needs to see what, if anything he can offer this team. Same with Pavlovic although was very strange move at the end of Sixers game.

I guess if we are to use Pavlovic against D Wade or Lebron we need to put him in the hot seat. Don't think he should displace Wafer; but that is Docs call.

I feel that Doc is experimenting with these guys to see how they handle certain situations. That is one of the only ways to learn what your new guys can do with such a limited window before the playoffs. I think that if they had longer and everyone of the new guys understood the playbook that we would see Green in more, possibly taking over in the 6th man role Davis has been playing.

I know that it may not seem ideal that he is taking chances with games on the line but again we are running out of time and we need to find out what Green, Arroyo, Sasha, Krstic and Troy can do.

Meanwhile Ray plays 39 minutes on a night when he shoots 2-11.

TP. I agree with that. The Celtics are having in-game practices, but when Doc is done with experimenting, everything will look better than before the trades.

Doc is a puzzling man. He does a lot doublespeak so to speak. For instance he 'hates small front-line' but past few games that's all he's been doing. Having Green play PF is luxury. Well Doc has been abusing that luxury. Celtics strive most with size upfront. I would love to see Green a lot more at the 3 (mismatch) slide Pierce to the 2 (mismatch).

No Wafer? Even if only for 5 or so minutes? Considering what looseball said about Ray Allen's minutes, I'd like that considered.

I feel like Doc is testing his new players to see what their capabilities are so he knows come playoff time. I haven't been happy with a lot of the lineups either but I'm sure the bad ones will be weeded out soon.

...Did I miss something? He was playing great before he got injured. Him, and Wafer.
