The only way to bring Rivers here is to package our own, Clippers 2012 pick and some prospect ala Avery Bradley to some team for his rights
That wouldn't even come close... It would need to be the 2012 pick and Rondo at least. This kid is going to be a star.
Doubt that, no team would trade (or expect any other team to trade) a championship caliber, 2 time all star, MVP buzz point guard for anything coming out of the draft, ever.
It may take more than Bradley, maybe, but maybe not. I mean look at it this way, if a team is set at their guard positions (Rivers has excellent range and handle, and enough size that he really could play either PG or SG, all depends on how he develops in the next couple years) but has a high pick in the draft and could get him, why wouldn't they move that pick for a couple of solid pieces, and a small slide down the draft board.
Moving out of the lottery, and grabbing a solid player then drafting another who meets more of your need, plus maybe an extra 2nd round pick is a smart play.
