Doc was wrong.  If he wanted to go where the players were he should've stayed in Boston.  He was already making head coach money as an assistant right?  Half the work, half the fame, double the rings?  How much more money is he really making this year than last?

It's not always about the money...it's your position too. He's the head coach now who has assistants to help him out.

He's making more money with the Bulls.

He also has career goals, one of those is being a head coach. To pass on his best chance to land such a job to stay with the current Celtics team might mean that he never gets that chance.

He sure did a good job for us and deserves his shot.  I wish him well unless he is playing us.  Can't blame a guy for seeing if he belongs with the big boys.

I don't fear Chicago but I do respect them.  There is a difference.  They are worthy foes.

That or he could've ended up coaching the best franchise of all time after Doc left.

I wasn't being completely serious.  Obviously I like our guys better than Chicago's but being a head coach in the NBA is one of the coolest jobs I could think of.

Also I could've guessed he's making more money with the Bulls I was just wondering how much more.  He was the highest paid assistant coach last year and I didn't think first year head coaches made all that much.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Interesting that Thibbs signed before the Boozer deal and Doc still said go where the players are.

The Bulls minus Boozer arent as good as the Hornets IMO...

I would rather have a core of Drose, Noah and Deng than Paul, Okafor, Ariza.

Same. I'm happy for the man. I'll always see him as a celtic.
