There have been many more good Rondos than bad.
I disagree. I think "Bad" Rondo shows up more often than "Good" Rondo.
Of course, I think at times it is a bit of an unfair label, since "Bad" Rondo is still significantly better than any PG we have seen in Boston in years. But the fact that we know he can be significantly better if he is completely focussed has spoiled us a bit, and I think if he is going to make that leap to superstar status that some people think he is capable of, he is going to have to learn to play closer to he does on his best days about 90% of the time.
Can anyone even name 5 bad games Rondo has had this year?
Again, bad is relative, but if we are going to compare him to the way he plays on his good nights (and elite players do not vary all that much), here are a few bad games over the last few weeks:
@ Milwaukee last night
@ LA Clippers
@ Denver
@ Charlotte
@ Pheonix 1/28
@ Portland 1/27
2 points 11 assists and 7 rebounds in a win against LAC isn't bad.
Against CHA he had 10 points and 14 assists with 5 rebounds
If Chris Paul put up those numbers, it would be considered bad. If Deron Williams put up those numbers, it would be considered bad. If Derek Rose put up those numbers, it would be considered bad.
Also, you forgot to mention the 6 turnovers in the CHA game, and the 7 turnovers against LAC.
And besides, it not really about the numbers. It is about how he played, and in those games, he was defintely not playing like he can. They lost that game against Charlotte, and barely came away with a win against the Clippers, and Rondo's sloppiness had a lot to do with both of those outcomes.
