The offensive rebounding stat won't keep anyone awake nites. We rank
30th in the League but we're leading the East. Maybe lots of wasted energy trying for them especially when we could get back faster on D because we are a slow footed team.

He's only scratched the surface with regards to the player he will be.  He's just needs a KG injection to keep him hungry and getting better.  The skys the limit with Jeff.  We will look back on this trade in a few years and wonder how the heck Danny got Jeff Green for Kendrick Perkins.  Let alone Kristic. Good times.

And whomever they get with that first round pick.  Danny may well have gotten three horses for two ponies (sorry, Perk)--and to think of all  the pouting here over the trade!

Also, there are more centers with range in this league than you think.  If you go through the good centers in the league, slightly more than half will take and hit a midrange jumper when given the opportunity.  There are few who have three-point range, but the midrange shot is actually not all that rare among centers nowadays.

I'd say that it's not even really all that recent a development, having a big guy who's pretty reliable from ~15 feet.  Just from the C's fairly recent past, some pretty mediocre centers like Tony Battie and Vitaly and even Mark Blount could hit that midrange shot at a pretty good clip.  Raef was one of the guys that could step out behind the arc.  Hell, he didn't really show it in his short time here, but Mikki Moore had a decent jump shot that made him a bit of $$ over his career.

None of those guys was particularly good, but they could all hit the midrange jumper.  It's not that uncommon a skill for big men at all.

What's a LOT harder to find is a big guy with a true low-post game, which is why I was always such a big Al Jeff fan.

As of now, Krstic and Green are contributing a combined 22ppg on 62+TS% with minimal turnovers.  Huge offensive upgrade from the 14 ppg at low 50sTS%, higher turnover rates we were getting from Nate and Perk.  Both benefiting from the Celtics ball movement and Rondo's playmaking.

They've sucked on the boards however (not even rebounding as well as Perk combined).

Really looking forward to seeing more of Jeff Green at the 3 with Pierce at the 2.  Doc's wanted a power 3 for ages primarily to unleash Pierce on the frail 2-guards of the league.

Every game Green is looking better. He his shown good skill with his step back jumper. I'd like to see him attack the rim more out of face up situations. Once he is more comfortable and they start running more sets he should average around 10-15, with some 25+ games sprinkled in.

His step back game reminds me a lot of Pierce. Pierce in my opinion is the best in the league at using up fakes to get to his spot for jumpers (because he does it on craftiness not super athleticism).

If everyone gets healthy before the end of the season, I see a good opportunity to rest starters with a second unit of
West
Wafer/Pavlovic
Green/
Baby
Krstic
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Honestly, I've yet to see him take a step-back.  The jumpers he's getting are off screens and short pull-ups off of one or two dribbles.

I'm actually not crazy about him as a face-up player against all but the slowest match-ups either.  I think he's an inefficient face-up player: doesn't really have a go-to shot if he can't finish strong.  His post game is his best bet for shot-creation.  The rest of his offense should come in transition, off-ball/screen movement and, if he can improve his shot, spot-up situations.

what is amazing is that we added a 6'9" swing forward who can finish at the rim, hit jumpshots and has the lunch pail attitude that will make him a better defender and endear him to teammates and fans alike.

kid will play a huge role in our march to 18.

even more amazing we got him AND a 7' center who just dropped 17 pts on the bucks for perk and the the ballboy.

Tossing the good 1st  rounder in almost makes it embarrassing.

Bottom line is Krstic and Green have both been good additions on the offensive end so far. Bottom line also is the Celts have pretty much played awful teams since they got these guys. I absolutely am not trying to dengirate the effort by either of them, but I do want to see them against elite competition before passing judgment on the two of them. Krstic does have soft hands and a nice touch, but has he faced a real center yet since he has gotten here (Yes, he faced Phoeniz, but Robin Lopez is the stiff of the Lopez twins -- LOL) I mean Krstic was being guarded by John Brockman last night!

To be Devil's advocate:  All your points are moot if the Celtics don't get to the finals.

Jeff Green is NOT Amazing, not unless you are artificially driving down the definition of "Amazing" to make your point.  Would you put Jeff Green in the same category as Blake Griffin?  Bc he is "Amazing."

This trade cannot be properly judged until after the playoffs, pro-Green trade faction can try and convince the rest of the Celtic fans that this trade is all positive, but unless Green and the Celts get to the finals, the trade is a failure.

Andrew Bynum's 17 rebounds and defensive presence v. the Spurs concerns me far more that Jeff Green's 11 pts and 3 rebs. in 27 mins against an undermanned Bucks team.

true.  Green needs to focus on using that athletcism to rebound and play defense.  Learning under Garnett and Pierce he will be a all-star for this team in the future.

I agree, Jeff Green has been amazingly solid for us so far.

He can make open shots, finish on the break, score in the post and make FT's & 3's.

What more can you ask?
