As a team they are now 1-16 on potential game-winning shots.
For you math buffs, that's a healthy 6.25%.
what's the average? somewhere around 4-16? does this mean they win the next three close ones?
not picking on you, Rondo_is_better, and I love that the Heat are losing, but on the other hand, I really think that the drama surrounding this team only serves to mischaracterize how tough of an opponent they could be around playoff time...
What is the definition of 'potential game-winning shots'? Were there any fouls drawn that aren't considered? What about if they hit a shot, but then the other team came back and hit a shot? Would that eliminate the hit? If so, that will lower percentages.
If they hit the shot and it only ties the game, is the hit included (meaning it is a no-win situation statistically)?
Regardless, I feel like I have seen the same story a few times in the last few weeks. Less than 8 seconds on the clock, down 1 to 3 points, a miss, an offensive rebound, a missed open look, crying.
