As a team they are now 1-16 on potential game-winning shots.

For you math buffs, that's a healthy 6.25%.

what's the average?  somewhere around 4-16?  does this mean they win the next three close ones?

not picking on you, Rondo_is_better, and I love that the Heat are losing, but on the other hand, I really think that the drama surrounding this team only serves to mischaracterize how tough of an opponent they could be around playoff time...
Celtics fan for life.

What is the definition of 'potential game-winning shots'? Were there any fouls drawn that aren't considered? What about if they hit a shot, but then the other team came back and hit a shot? Would that eliminate the hit? If so, that will lower percentages.

If they hit the shot and it only ties the game, is the hit included (meaning it is a no-win situation statistically)?

Regardless, I feel like I have seen the same story a few times in the last few weeks. Less than 8 seconds on the clock, down  1 to 3 points, a miss, an offensive rebound, a missed open look, crying.

Why can't this type of dysfunction and failure be haunting the Lakers.

I think at this point the issues they're having are "in their heads" so that they're starting to tighten up late in games.

Did anyone notice that Bosh was being guarded by a SF on the last play?  I know Lebron missed it.
I didn't notice that. Was it Deng (SF) that was guarding Bosh? I wouldn't break the play if it was Deng.

Deng can do an effective job defending Bosh. He has enough size/length and strength to stop Bosh from getting an easy shot in the post + has far too much quickness for Bosh to take him off the dribble (Bosh's best way to create his own shot).

Deng can defend the four spot pretty well. Especially a finesse / skill player like Bosh (rather than a power player like Boozer or Z.Randolph).

There is a bit of a mismatch there but not enough for me to scrap a play and have Bosh go one-on-one against it.
