This wouldn't be a bad idea at all, Mayo still has a great jump shot and honestly could learn a lot from the Big 3. For the people that talk about his maturity issues, remember when Pierce first came into the league? The bar stabbing, all the on the court and off the court antics. The press conference when he was wearing his neck brace? Mayo has been playing in Memphis where they really have no true system in place, so it would be interesting to see him come to a team with a lot of veteran leadership.

OJ's a chucker and not a particularly good one, there's a reason Memphis started playing so well when he went to the bench.

The idea is to lure Doc back--not to chase him away.

Green, Rondo, Mayo?  No thanks.

Now that we have Green and they are likely going to re-sign him, we need a superstar to fill the hole next to Rondo and Green.

We could get O.J. Mayo, and Dwight. That would make up for the Super-star SG.

Yeah I'll trade for Mayo, But I also want some Bacon, lettuce and Tomato.

And know way I trade a real live Baby for some Mayo what a rip-off.

I would trade Jermaine though for a   B.L.T. and a bag of chips.

He is vastly over rated I think.  I think Bradley may have a better pro career than him.  This kid is the second coming of the Telfairy....

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I hope so. If he can be had for cheap I don't see why we shouldn't pursue him. Sure he's having a bad season, but he's a 17/18 point per game level player. He always did seems to be a (word that rhymes with swoosh), but so does Rondo I think he'd do well in a winning environment.

And where are we going to get this superstar from?  No chance we get a player with superstar potential greater than Mayo's by giving up less value than proposed here.  Mayo has tons of talent.

What would be so wrong with that?  A 23 year old with room to improve that's already comparable to Jamal Crawford?  Crawford is a very useful basketball player if a team needs what he can provide.

Yeah but..Mayo is a lot worse right now than Jamal Crawford in his prime.

  • Let's Go Celtics!
I posted this in another thread. but felt like making a thread for this topic .

I think Danny is going to sign and trade BBD for OJ Mayo

The Grizzlies already had a trade for McRoberts and a 1st round pick from Indiana , but the trade fell through at the last minute

They may be interested in a package like

Bos Sends: BBD and Avery Bradley or 1st rd pick

Mem Sends: OJ Mayo

Mayo has already said he would want to play with Rondo in an interview and he would be a restricted FA in 2012, so we would have the ability to match anything if we knew that Howard had no interest in signing here.

future core:

Rondo
OJ Mayo
PP
Green

Then if a superstar became available we could package Green and OJ Mayo for them

thoughts?

I've been begging for a Mayo trade for the longest and I do really hope Danny at least considers it this offseason.
