I'd take BBD for Mayo.

That'd be nice.. and probably possible considering Memphis' willingness to dump OJ.

I'd rather lock up Jeff Green and I'd be more than willing to part with BBD to do so.

Also considering Memphis' soon to be need for a PF once/if Randolph leaves.  Maybe not a starter, but even if they find a below average replacement starting PF, they could have Baby for 20-25 min per game off the bench.

that could be a nicely rebuilt team of what could have been if we never went with the KG-Ray-Paul group:

Keep Jeff Green, trade Baby for Mayo, and sign Greg Oden and hope he bounces back,

Danny hasn't exactly shown a liking to big men with knee problems.

He did give JO the MLE for 2 years

Sign and trade is the trend, but it sure will hurt if the C's indeed lose Davis.

I would think that Memphis could get better offers than BBD for Mayo.

Given how much money the Cs have tied up in existing players, plus the money they will likely spend on Jeff Green and probably also Krstic, I don't see there being much of an appetite for paying BBD or, for that matter, working a sign and trade (unless it brings back a Center, in which case Krstic wouldn't be resigned).

For illustration, I imagine that Jeff Green will get a contract starting at around $7M and that Krstic will get one starting around $5M (I'm probably way lowballing this), which is $12M next year on top of the $72M already in salary.  That brings salary to $84M before considering rookie salaries and assumes no MLE spent on anyone.  Given that, are the Celtics really going to want to sign BBD or work a S&T?

From a pure talent level...yes. The Grizzles have killed his trade value though, so BBD would be a good fit considering Z-Bo is hitting free agency this year.

In response to the title of this thread :  FINALLY!

In response to the proposed memphis oj deal...  I don't think Memphis likes to trade with us EVER
They also like to take our players (tony allen) and help our rival LA (Pau Gasol for ... NOTHING?!)  so yeah.  isn't their some crazy Chris Wallace conspiracy out there?

How much better was the Pacers offer, and how hard would it be to even things up with a draft pick?
