No I think his market value is at or probably higher than the extension perk just signed
Interesting then that OKC gave up another starter, and a possible lottery pick to get a guy with less value than Green.
It is team building. The same reason that Lebron and Wade are 2 of the 5 best players in the league but dont guarantee a title is the reason they would move the "more talented" player.
Green is redundant and they would not resign him long term to play out of position and to keep Harden on the bench.
By moving green they increase the value/production of Harden and of Ibaka by moving him to the PF spot and letting him be active and roam on D when paired with a physical C like Perk.
The pieces have to fit or you do not fully capitalize on the teams potential.
Actually seems like a pretty decent trade from both sides to me.
