If Baby needs a week, sit him for 3, tell him to some major cardio and diet work during that time and drop 10-15 lbs.

And please don't anyone say that's impossible for him to drop 10-15 lbs in 3 weeks.

I could do that with my eyes closed and without the resources he has and I'm far older and nowhere "near" the athlete he is.

Get him plenty and "fully" rested for the stretch run.

Put heat on the newcomers to produce, kill two birds with one stone.

Good news for Baby, I was worried and that's a relief. Delonte will miss Friday and Sunday games though, I hope he doesn't get injured again once he comes back because he is still like a newcomer on this team since he has played about 8 games this year.

Kind of funny how with the Celtics it goes from Doc saying the other day if it was the playoff that West would play, to him now missing at least 4 games. And they talk about Belichek.
Why?  Delonte West is a playa.  He'd play in the playoffs with one arm.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

He's played his entire career with no right hand, so that's not saying much.

So you're saying he's the next Jerry West?

I like this giving Ray a day off thing. He's just going to shoot all day anyways.

Smart thing to say right before you're up for a contract.  ::)

This reminds me of something else interesting Doc said this morning.  He said that he is going to be backing off on practices for the starters, but will be having the new guys and second team practicing every day, and often longer sessions.

I'd like to hear how well Doc is doing convincing KG to take some time off.

A "maintenance day" for Ray Allen makes me think of it as a "spa day" and Ray sitting poolside getting his nails done before he goes shopping with Shaq.

Sometimes injuries linger. I don't play at their level of intensity, but I have had joint injuries that lasted well over 6 months.

Seems like Doc is more worried about spending time working with the young guys, and new guys.

Sometimes tendinitis can never really go away for an entire career. He just needs to manage it.

he needs to lose weight. He puts too much strain on the knees with the defense he plays at his current weight for them to heal.
