I would have liked Leon as a 15th man / towel waver / locker room presence, but I think he wants playing time, which we couldn't give him.

This is the best decision - no real room for him here and who knows what his health/conditioning is really like right now.

Loved Leon while he was here, but we're moving in a different direction.

I really like him. I want the best for him. But I think it's for the best for Boston.

Being sentimental won't win us crap  - we didn't any interest in him at all to begin with get real.  Danny is playing to win not please the fans or the team.  Adding an oft injured player who couldn't break the team lineup in  CLE  is going to help us win.

That being said Leon is a warrior and I wish him well.

I guess we could call this the 'fat girl' strategy by Danny Ainge.

You got your eye on the sexy girl to take to prom, but a lot of other people wanna take her too, so it's not a lock shes gonna agree to go with you.  So to ensure your not dateless, you flirt with the fat girl a little bit so you got a failsafe fall back plan.

Troy Murphy said yes to Danny, so Dannys not callin Leon anymore

If they're not satisfied with House, the Heat can sign Powe to fulfill their craving for the Celtics sloppy seconds.

Has anyone seen Powe play at all this year?  I mean, I know Cleveland has Hickson and (until recently) Jamison in front of him, but if he can't get minutes on CLEVELAND, of all teams.  And, they cut him loose even with Jamison going down.

Two roster spots left.  Ideal would be Corey Brewer to back up the 2/3 and a guy who can be the 3rd-string PG, or backup PG if/when Delonte hurts himself again.

No space for him as others have said, especially if the rumors of Brewer agreeing to be a Celtic are true. He will never be forgotten for his great tough play in 07-08 though.

If we had 3 roster spots open, we (assuming) sign Murphy, added Johnson to a 10 day contract, and can add Brewer. Could we not sign Powe after Johnson's 10 day contract is up? He may have to accept a role of being listed as inactive in the playoffs. However, if someone gets hurt (such as JO doesn't come back), then he could be active.

Don't know how well Powe is physically after the knee operations.

Wouldn't we be better with a playoff experienced Powe vs. Johnson?

This is in the Celtics best interest. I was a fan of Powe while he was here and hated to see him go and it was sad when he got injured those other times but his knees must be shot by now. We have too many injury prone players, need a reliable one.

Chris Johnson is in no way ready to play in the playoffs but he's just on a 10 day contract so I'm not worried really. I wish Powe all the best but simply put he should retire and enjoy his handicap parking privileges.
