This is in the Celtics best interest. I was a fan of Powe while he was here and hated to see him go and it was sad when he got injured those other times but his knees must be shot by now. We have too many injury prone players, need a reliable one.

Chris Johnson is in no way ready to play in the playoffs but he's just on a 10 day contract so I'm not worried really. I wish Powe all the best but simply put he should retire and enjoy his handicap parking privileges.

I'd like to have Powe as 13th man, but would suggest taking him for no other reason just so he doesn't join another playoff club. If there's someone else out there as another option, I'm open to other candidates.

Ideally I'd like another wing and a point guard.  But as others have said, if that isn't in the cards, we could do worse than have Powe in the inactive list.  At least if we got killed with injuries in the playoffs he could step in rather easily.

Let's hope and assume we pick up Brewer. Are there any PG available worth picking up? Bibby is going to the Heat.

Being sentimental won't win us crap  - we didn't any interest in him at all to begin with get real.  Danny is playing to win not please the fans or the team.  Adding an oft injured player who couldn't break the team lineup in  CLE  is going to help us win.

He was probably option #2 if the Cs didn't land Murphy.

Good luck Leon!

I wouldn't mind Carlos Arroyo.

He isn't great.  That's for sure.  But he'd be OK backing up Rondo for 5-8 mpg if West went down.

And he might actually sign up for that given that he was just waived by Miami and might want to stick it to them.

Hey and while we're wanting former Celtics to come back while don't we call up Wally, Raef, Jiri, Gabe, Toine, Williams, Fox, and maybe Marbury isn't also completely useless. Really?? I know Powe was a fan favorite, I was one in the crowd, but he's a has-been. Also as much as Toine is trying to get back into the NBA it might not happen this season... I wish him luck.

  • Another undersized Celtic...
Thank God we passed on Powe. Maybe OKC will sign his knees for 20-30 mil, too.

Powe could have been ultra insurance. He's definitely good enough for a 15th roster spot anyway.

Thank god. The last thing we need is another player to have to worry bout injuring himself every other play. C's are already stocked with those

I love Leon I love Leon I love Leon I love Leon I love Leon I love Leon, etc........from a California Celtics fan -- he is an exciting player and tough as The Truth, but maybe not quite so lucky. He has a kind heart too. When he was deep sea fishing with PP and they both caught fish and were arguing over whose was bigger, Leon threw his fish back because he felt sorry for it. Leon has dignity and class and ubuntu.

As a final roster spot, he's ideal. i have a feeling he'll be back in green.

It looks like he will be signing with memphis. I dunno but I still think Leon has something he can offer, especially to the Cs.

Leon can still finish around the rim.. and I think to the Celtics style of play they need more players like that. Guys that will get dirty around the rim. Yes hes got some bumb knees but I think the risk and reward for him going towards the post season run is a good gamble. Now as your 15 you have CJ who has height but is too light to make any impact. You also add some chemistry back to the team and someone who has familiarality to the system.. and some added muscle & grit.

Im not sold on Troy Murphy or N.K for that matter..
