Miami offers more playing time, better weather, and lower taxes.  I understand the appeal.

Boston offers the chance to be a legend.  (Well, a P.J. Brown style legend, but a legend all the same.)

And excellent chowder. That would be a big part of my pitch.

What about that red stuff they serve in Manhattan?

excellent work danny. trade away erden to get roster spots and you can't fill them. boston is going to sign 3 scrubs like mo peterson and dan gadsillic

How about you actually let things play out before making silly statements like this?

Because some people still want to pretend that Perk is walking through that door and Danny just traded away Bill Russell, Jr.

Still waiting for someone to point us to where anyone called Perk Bill Russell Jr.  Unreal.

Maybe you never called Perk, Bill Russell, but right after the trade you declared that they Celtics have no chance at winning the title anymore, like what would have happened if they traded away the real Bill Russell.

who is left out there? boston has a to get a big b/c the o neals are likely to be hurt again...i could careless about perk. i like the trade...but danny opened up 3 spots to ADD people...losing murphy screws them big..the should have kept erden. he is better than any big out there after murphy

Erden is hurt and is near useless.  I have to question your ability to evaluate talent if you actually think that Erden is an important player.  When Shaq and JO get healthy, he'll never see the floor.

When murphy goes to miami..boston will have missed on the 1 guy they needed the most. and i will believe JO plays when I see JO play. they need to add another big and when murphy goes to miami...who is it going to be?

You have confirmation of Murphy to Miami?  Link?

I'd almost rather have Arroyo than Bibby.

I think I would too.
can we get arroyo if they cut him?

murphy to Miami makes a lot of sense, but if Murphy is guarding Shaq in the playoffs they are going to be in for a world of hurt, shaq will absolutely eat up Murphy .

He would be a better fit in Boston because his weaknesses wouldn't be soo exposed by playing him too many mins at Center.

So what's Miami's pitch to these guys?

"We'll be fine in the playoffs, as long as we don't have to face any quality opponents!"

"Come to Miami, work on your tan, and join in on our playoff faceplant!"

"Bring your talents to South Beach!"

"LeBron and Wade will pass you the ball, honest!"

LOL, i cant help but give you a TP for that genius

but yeh the whole Murphy and Bibby coming to Boston or not is a win win situation for Boston no matter what

Bibby at backup pg, can provide rest for Rondo and can shoot the ball, be on the same floor with Delonte...

Murphy coming here can provide us with good rebounds while on the floor

HOWEVER

if he joins the Heat

Bibby and Murphy both are defense liabilities, Rondo and Shaq will eat them up...

either way Boston can gain from both situations in my opinion

I never said Perk was a great player. I never said Perk was Bill Russell Jr. I did say I believe that the Celtics will not win the championship as a result of this trade and that I believe they will finish with the third seed. I also said that I think it will be really difficult to integrate 4-5 new guys into the Celtics system and have them hitting on all cylinders when the playoffs come around. I also said that I do not believe Shaq or JO will ever be fuly healthy.

No one on this blog has said Perk was the next coming of Bill Russell. NO ONE.

See that is the big difference between us and Miami. We want Murphy and maybe Bibby as insurance policies. They want both of them to start and play big minutes.

How does a team become a "frontrunner" in the sweepstakes to land a bought out player? I never understood that. It doesn't make sense to me. Do reporters just look at the needs of a certain team and anoint them as frontrunners?

You have inside information on Shaq and JO's health?

Funny, but I just read that Dickerson said Shaq looks great.  Danny said that JO should be back, and JO himself tweeted such.

Just curious as to how you seem to know things that are contrary to those who actually do...

Dude, I NEVER said you said Perk was the next coming of Bill Russell. But you declared emphatically, not "I think", that the Celtics have no chance at the title anymore LIKE Kendrick Perkins was Bill Walton.

I think if Arroyo gets cut to make room for Bibby, we have to grab him. I love Delonte, especially when he plays like he did Saturday night, but he is having a hard time staying healthy, and even though Rondo is young, he needs to get rest and we can't exactly trust Avery Bradley with important minutes right now.

According to A. Sherrod Blakely here is why Murphy now prefers Miami :

Quote
Murphy camp wasn't sure #heat would eat another guaranteed salary to bring him on. Appears they're willing to do it. #heat in the lead now.
