"The source also said Miami is the front-runner for Troy Murphy. The Heat will have to cut as many players as they sign, and the source said Carlos Arroyo and Jamaal Magloire are the likeliest candidates."

This would be disappointing... especially if Murphy is anything like he was last year.

This would be a disaster. But as I pointed out in the other thread, we were the frontrunners as early as this morning so it's all speculation at this point.

I guess that Shaq is close to returning and the open spot as a starting C in Miami is hard to compete with.

I don't think the situation has changed, it's just a different source that Sherrod Blakely's.

murphy to Miami makes a lot of sense, but if Murphy is guarding Shaq in the playoffs they are going to be in for a world of hurt, shaq will absolutely eat up Murphy .

He would be a better fit in Boston because his weaknesses wouldn't be soo exposed by playing him too many mins at Center.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
Well, even if he doesn't come here the sun will still shine and it won't be the end of the world.  Danny will find someone, that's for sure.

All these "experts" have sources, who have sources, who have sources....yet none of them will ever name their source to give their story credibility. Thus the speculation by all, including guys like Sherrod is just that, stupid speculation.

It would be a great day in the journalism world when one of these sports reports actually named a source rather than reporting things and never being held accountable because they were able to use an anonymous source. I know it is never going to happen and fans are always going to eat that stuff up, but boy would that be a great day.

The less likely Murphy is to come here, the better I feel about Shaq and JO coming back.

Murphy's decision is mostly based on playing time.

If they get Murphy and Bibby that's a damper.

The only reason the Perk trade remotely made sense was that we were getting Murphy.  Nevermind the Semih/Gody trade.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

He is thinking minutes on a watched team.  He is thinking earn contract for next season.

He will get more minutes and attention on Miami.

How about you actually let things play out before making silly statements like this?

Miami offers more playing time, better weather, and lower taxes.  I understand the appeal.

Boston offers the chance to be a legend.  (Well, a P.J. Brown style legend, but a legend all the same.)
