If Murphy ends wearing green, I'll root for the guy and all, but there's something I didn't knew about him. I wanted to know his playoff stats, but I couldn't find them. He hasn't played in the postseason.

So... what would the Celtics want Murphy for? Playing in the regular season to save minutes for the O'Neals, I guess. Because he hasn't playoff experience, he is no veteran presence for the postseason.

I know that doesn't keep him from helping the team, and I'd love the Celtics to get Corey Brewer, who has about the same playoff experience as Murphy. Rip and Powe have championship experience, so my dream scenario would be Rip, Powe and Sheed. If Sheed gets ready for the playoffs, and is willing to take the pain from his back problems (very big if, I know), there isn't a better big man out there.

If the Celtics can't get Sheed and Rip, Brewer and Murphy could be nice. If Powe's health is as good as he's telling, they better lock him as soon as possible. They need insurance for both the regular season and playoffs, and experience is highly required in that case.

I think Murphy is old/wise/veteran enough to handle playing in the playoffs. It's not like he's a 3rd year guy who's never played in the playoffs. He has been around a while i'm sure he'll do well in the playoffs, i'm sure he's gonna be pumped to be in them for a change
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

If Murphy was a 2nd year guy, I'd say his lack of playoff experience mught be a factor. He is a 30 year old veteran and I can't imagine it will difficult for him to adjust to playoff intensity.  If he'd been in the playoffs before and choked, I'd be more concerned.

yep, it's not like the Celts would be expecting him to carry the team.

well, I hope you are right, but Sheed wasn't expected either, and last year he had to carry the team in game 7. This year we have more help with Curly and a healthy KG, and we'll be luckier with health (knocking on wood).

well, Sheed was signed to the full MLE, Murphy would be a buyout pickup for the vet min. Far less expectations there. The expectations are on Shaq and JO.

i think murphy would be fine along with kapono and powe...but JO is the wildcard..if he can come back and contribute..murphy is less important

Sheed is TRASH! GARBAGE! BASURA!!!!

Making a 3 pointer every 15 or so attempts does not make you good!

Grabbing less then 4 rebounds a game when your 6'10 plus is not good.

Shooting between 40 and 45% from the field when your a forward or center is NOT GOOD!

AND NO! He was not a good defensive player! not last year he wasn't.

Don't forget giving the other team some free shots with your mouth too.

i doubt Rip gets bought out now, and CoreyBrewer? Really? didn't the Knicks just trade for him? he seems like a nice piece. i dont know why they would do that.

i'm pretty happy with our backup wings of Green-Wafer-West. TJ Ford is going to get bought out and though he's a good player, i like West and Wafer better because they can shoot and defend better. that said i would like for us to shore up our big men more. Troy Murphy + Powe sounds good. or Dalembert (definitely), if he gets bought out, which i doubt because they seem to love him in Sacramento.

Wait you are going to fault a guy for playing on crappy teams? There are plenty of things you can criticize Murphy for like his defense and sometimes lack of effort, but faulting a guy because he has been on crappy teams that haven't been able to make the playoffs is silly.

It's not like he gets to make the personnel decisions for his teams.
