Quote from Perkins today via an OKC beat reporter:

“I walked in today. I didn’t have a pair of shoes so I had my old Celtics shoes. They (Thunder teammates) were like, ’Man, you got to get that out of here.’ So I threw them right in the trash. They tried to pass me a little green medicine ball today. I said, ’I don’t want to see nothing green.’ Boston is the last thing on my mind now.” — Perkins.

If he cries and doesn't want to see anything green, does that make him a bigger Sasha Vujacic?

Don't hate on Perk. I think it just means he doesn't want to be reminded of something painful. He wants to focus on what he needs to do now and not let that stuff hold him back.

I hope he gets over it and accepts it as soon as possible. The sooner he does I think the sooner the Cs players will get over it too, because the reason they feel bad is they feel bad for Perk.

PS: Did I just see Perk compared to Vujacic? Excuse me while I gouge my own eyes out.

Poor Perk.  He's really taking it hard. :-[

I feel bad for him, but it's time for him to grow up now.

I can't think of another trade where these two things happened...

1.The player had an incredible amount of history/attachment to team

2.The player didn't want to leave

Gerald Henderson, late 1984, traded for what would be the pick used to get Len Bias. Henderson was devastated, IIRC.

To a lesser extent, Ainge traded to Sacremento for Joe Klein and Ed Pinkney in 1988. Ainge said that he'd always be a Celtic in his heart.

Cedric Maxwell for Bill Walton (Clippers) in 1985. Max never played hard after that. The Clippers were a joke to him.

Boo Hoo, man, give me a break! I am sorry guys but it's kind of hard for me to feel too sorry for a man who makes 4-5 million dollars a year just because he has to swtich teams! I mean, really, I loved Perk and still do but if you pay me 4.5 million dollars I would have a Lakers tatoo put on my right cheek and wear nothing but Lakers clothing every day of the year.

Perkins is one of my favourite players and will remain so, but he's angry, the same way Powe got angry when he wasn't resigned although the Celtics offered him same money as the Cavs at the time.

He is in a good situation in Oklahoma,it's not like he was traded to Cleveland or any other rock bottom team, I hope they go deep in the playoffs and perhaps upsets the Lakers and we play them in the finals.

Maybe you never heard the saying that money doesn't buy you happiness.

Or how about this gem "everything's relevant".

It's OK to feel sorry for Perkins, despite the fact that he makes millions of dollars.

Perk will have to stand on his own now. No more Big 3 to hide his lack of skills. It's not his fault entirely he doesn't have a money shot most NBA players have. With the Big 3 hogging who's got time to develop a shot. So we'll see now how he gets exposed. I'm sure there are lots of NBA players out there ready to test him. Like a hot knife cutting through butter he was cut. Love and hate DA for his coldness but he is exactly an example of how a business is run. Always for the sake of the *team*. Can't live on laurels. It's what have you done for me lately that always counts.

Relax, folks.  He plays for OKC now.  He has no choice but to move on at this point.

I do feel badly for him.  I think that's natural.  But let's keep things in perspective: he's an athlete making millions of dollars, not a starving child in the developing world.

Yep, it's a business.  He wanted to test the market and Danny traded him.

I think he loved being a Celitc and played hard for us.

He should act like this. He's on the thunder now and that is his team.
We wouldnt want our new guys crying over their old team either.
Back to wanting Joe fired.
