Celtics have traded Kendrick Perkins.  Here is what they've received in exchange (if you combine the moves that got us where we are today starting in 2007).

In exchange for Kendrick, the C's essentially got:

Ray Allen
Nenad Krstic
Clippers 1st round pick in 2012
Jeff Green & Delonte West (who were part of the original Ray Allen trade)

Pretty good work by Danny, no?

If you go back to 2007, the trade that set into motion our championship started with Jeff Green and Delonte West going to Seattle/OKC for Ray Allen. We now have those two players back in Green....and we still have Ray Allen and also now have a 1st round draft pick for 2012. The only player we no longer have on the team is Perkins.

I understand the Perk, Nate, and Wally for Ray, BBD, Krstic, Green, West, and 2012 top ten protected Clippers pick which I'll take every single time. But . . .

How exactly does Walker and Eddie figure into that trade? We signed Eddie as a free agent didn't we? And didn't we buy Walker's pick?

I guess it would really be:
Bos sends: Perk, Bill Walker, Eddie House, J.R. Giddens, Wally

Bos gets: Ray Allen, BBD ,Kristic, Green, Clips first rd pick

because
(a) Walker, Eddie House were used to get Nate, so you were "counting" Nate twice.
(b) We had Dwest prior to trade with Seattle, so we don't "get" him back.
(c) Don't forget Giddens!

yes but we traded House and Walker to get nate last year, and the this year traded nate along with Perk

green and west were the biggest part of that seattle trade in 2007. Getting both of them back is a huge factor . We don't get him back in the actual trade, but it is pretty much the same thing because he is on the roster again.

Ha.  Rick Pitino and Chris Wallace are equally geniuses, then.  Rick picked Jerome Moiso in the first round, and Wallace traded him for a #1.  That #1 was converted into Perk (in a draft day trade).

So, kudos to Rick Pitino.  He turned the #10 in an extremely weak draft into Ray Allen, BBD, Krstic, Green, West, and a #1 (still not really understanding the logic, but I'm running with it.)  If we win a championship, we should buy that man a beer.  Wallace, too.

well yea it is pretty much Perk for Ray allen considering the 2 biggest pieces that sea/okc got in that trade for Ray are on the c's roster along with Ray Allen.

obviously it wasn't some master plan by ainge over a 4 year period, but you can't deny the fact that he now has the 2 biggest pieces he traded away for ray allen back in a c's uniform...
