We're like 29-33 from the line... how about that.

Didn't see the game, did Krstic's presence help the others get to the line?

I liked what I saw, especially from Krstic who was very active on the boards (6 offensive boards! you never see that nowadays with the Cs's) and efficient offensively. He played with a lot of energy.

Green had "meh" moments (especially on D) but was solid offensively considering he is adjusting to his new role without knowing the system or anything.

Of course it's only one game and not the best to judge the new guys but so far so good, knowing Green will certainly improve.

From what Doc is asking Jeff to do, he'll take a few games to get into a groove.

Its funny how every time you read Jeff on this blog, you immediately think of Jeff Clark. :)

yep certainly true in my case. When someone says green on the other hand i cant help thinking about gerald

That was a great game to watch. Green and Krstic are quality players and also quality people. They seem to immediately just fit with the team. I love it that they're Celtics.

Funny - I can't help but wonder how long it will take for Donte Greene (and maybe even Danny Green) to be acquired by the Celtics...

I saw them play last night.....and it was good. I look back at the trade Ainge made........and it was good. Does this mean Ainge is God?
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

This is a horrible game to judge Kristc/Green on.

The Clippers are playing ridiculous, they are running, gunning, fouling, and dunking.

Green and Krstic were basically thrown into a blazing fire tonight.

This is NOT how the C's play, at all.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was weird - the Celtics were trying to outrun the Clips the whole game - like there was a concerted effort to push the ball on offense.

Was it just this game, or are we possibly seeing an intentional change in style? If the team can start getting a few more of the (quite rare) +20 ft margins, watch out...

Krstic played well, looked good on the front line. Davis, unfortunately, didn't. Nice offensive game for Delonte, 0 turnovers. Kaman sure looked good in just his 5th game back. And Foye must have poured his Wheaties out of the MJ box yesterday...

Well, I'm happy with what I saw from both.

From what Doc is asking Jeff to do, he'll take a few games to get into a groove. Looks like Doc is giving him a wide berth to operate in, which is good. Not a bad game, to me. He showed patience, and had a decent block as well.

He had one sequence when he was guarding Kaman, and did well. Showed his versatility. I would not be surprised if he takes over games here in the future.

Nenad? I'm very encouraged - for his first game in Green. Very active around the basket...stronger than I thought. Very encouraging for me. He held his own a couple of times rebounding in traffic vs the quickness of Clip players.

When Nenad hit a long jumper, I could only imagine him doing that vs the Lakers. Hit that J a few times like that against LA? All of a sudden he's drawing slow-footed, long, shot-blocking Bynum (or Gasol) out of the lane.

If Nenad is doing that, we can shred them. Rondo, Paul, Jeff, or Ray will go right to the hoop. Much less probability of a blocked shot with just ONE of those LA trees in there.

Overall I'm happy with both. Not a perfect game from them, but very encouraging to me. Jeff is essentially playing two spots when he's in there with his postup capability. He can get it done, and he will.

TP, thanks for the analysis and insight.  Wasn't able to watch the game, so was interested to read about Green and Nenad's first game as Cs.  So far, so good.

Yeah ;D

We need a nickname for Jeff and Nenad....Nenad should be an easy one...something like, "Chair-chucker", or something.

Tell ya what - I'd count THAT episode with Krstic as him having a mean streak. Not many of our opponents will try to push him around, that's for sure.

In our opponent's minds? "The C's got THAT center that chucked a chair last summer. We'd better not try anything with these Celtics."

"Besides being a solid player, dude's got a mean streak we need to avoid."

I love it! Welcome to Boston, Nenad!

"Chairman of the Boards"?  Maybe just the Chairman for short.
(laughing) +1

Jeff Green played one of his worst games this season.

Krstic on the other hand.. wow.. is he pumped to be here or what?  The guy is extremely mobile (when compared to Perk) and seems to already be winning everyone over.  First play of the game he had 2 rebounds and a put back.

Reminded me of Moses Malone on that play!

I liked Jeff Green posting the other teams sf. Very aggressive!!

There is a lot of flaming going on in this thread.  Let this be a warning, keep it civil.

Do remember, there is nothing on this blog that says you can't disagree with a move the Celtics make.

I was thinking the same thing.  That was the one thing that I took away from last night as a positive from Green.

I really liked Krstic's energy and his hustle on the offensive boards.  What I didn't like?  0 defensive rebounds and five fouls.

I don't think it's fair to make decisions on either player for at least a couple of weeks.  Even once the guys become comfortable with their new teammates it's still going to take a long time to learn the Celtics system.
