I thought both players played pretty well. Krstic spent time talking with players on the court. Green looked a bit lost out there which I can understand given the difference in the positions they play. Both came out of their lanes running down the court a bunch of times, but that is just lack of practice.

I thought there were some stupid calls on Krstic early in the game. But I thought he fit in really well. Green looked better as the game went on, but he definitely needs to practice with the team.

Overall, pretty good showing for the first game. I definitely see their advantage for the team once they get some time together.

it is going to take green longer..he is used to being a starter and he has to learn 3 different spots for the Celtics. i do feel better about the bench now with him and west playing...loved krstic. thought he gave the Cs some good toughness on offense and loved the fact he can hit the jumper. once he plays more he is going to be very important to the Cs

It's too early to tell much.  The only thing I think all C's can take out of this game is that Krstic is obviously an NBA player.  I know some people on this board were acting like he was a guy who would kill us if he was in the rotation.  That's obviously not the case.

I think that should make everyone breath a little easier that even without JO and Troy Murphy, once Shaq gets back we'll have two legit centers, plus BBD who can slide there.

They should only get better once they know the system.  I think Krstic could easily be a 10 PPG 6 RPG guy.

Green needs to play alongside someone who actually likes moving the ball. You know, unlike Big Baby who in this game shot the ball every time he touched it, most of the time contested.

Tommy Point.  Jeff Green and Delonte West/Rondo..combo might be the way too go with Pierce, Ray Allen and Garnett.

Actually, with the passing of rondo and KG I expect Krstic to score more than that if doc gives him minutes as a starter.

Jeff Green went to high school 5 minutes from me at Northwestern and Delonte West went to high school 5 minutes from me at Eleanor Roosevelt both here in Maryland.  Its crazy that they are now teammates.  I kept stats for a summer league while Delonte played there as a junior and senior.  Thats where my fandom comes from and follwing his career through college and the pros.   I have the same fandom for Jeff Green.  He led an ordinary Northwestern team to a State Title about 3-4 years after Delonte (well he had Eddie Basden on his team too) did just the same.

Jeff Green is an unselfish player and was always a great great passer.  I haven't seen the passing skills as much in the pros mainly because he has been a secondary player.  I think if the Cs keep him long term and after the big 3 are gone, we will see his passing skills more and more.  Its similar to what Evan Turner is going through now.  He doesn't have the offense run through him so his full skill set isn't being utilized.  Turner and Green and Boris Diaw have very similar skill sets and they all have struggled a little when the offenses don't go through them.

The guy is extremely mobile (when compared to Perk)

Right now, I think that describes a lot of centers in the NBA.

Transition will be tough for Green. He was so close with Durant and others on that team. Kristic should do fine once he learns the Defense. Hope the team reaches out to them more. Green and Delonte played together briefly in Seattle so should definitely help the second unit.

This is a horrible game to judge Kristc/Green on.

The Clippers are playing ridiculous, they are running, gunning, fouling, and dunking.

Green and Krstic were basically thrown into a blazing fire tonight.

This is NOT how the C's play, at all.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who thought it was weird - the Celtics were trying to outrun the Clips the whole game - like there was a concerted effort to push the ball on offense.

Was it just this game, or are we possibly seeing an intentional change in style? If the team can start getting a few more of the (quite rare) +20 ft margins, watch out...

I think that Doc might have urged the C's to push the ball in order to get more baskets outside of the set offense. That's easier for the new guys than coming down and trying to precisely execute in the half court every time, with plays you learned in the shootaround that morning.

That's my impression, anyway.

I think Krstic is gonna look much better than we expect playing along KG and the rest now. I call it the KG effect. Centers look better playing with him
