Krstic played with good energy. Green looked decent.  I thought the guy who turned the game around was Delonte. He is going to be huge for our second unit. He is feeling his shot. Rondo was atrocious, must have had 7 turnovers tonight, if they are honest. His head was in the clouds (thinking about his buddy Perk). He redeemed himself a bit in the second half, but still was very careless with the ball, very unrondolike.

Yeah, I'm very concerned about Rondo's play post-trade.  It's only been a couple games, and it just happened, so it's understandable.  But I'm worried about the effect that losing his best friend and teammate will have on his game.

He'll be fine...Doc will cure him. :)

  • Rondo = Good
Lot of policing going on by people who are for this trade...and the funny thing is none of them are mods.

Negative, non-sense, ridiculous, dumb...all very frequently used words in the past 48 hours. :-X

Honestly, it is ridiculous and dumb to call Perk a great great player.  Many of us loved the big guy a lot (and still do even though he's on a different team), but calling him a great great player is just plain silly.

I agree with Perk not being a "great" player. But it still doesn't make it right for others to attack anybody who doesn't like this trade...and if you've noticed..they attack in groups.

Anyway...all this is off-topic, I guess. Back to Krstic and Greene's performance. :)

I don't really care how much better Krstic played tonight than we feared he would.

To me this is like when your little bro has an awesome awesome hot as hell and smart girlfriend, and then he does something totally idiotic and loses her, and then three weeks later he has a new girlfriend that he picked up at the local tramp hangout.

And you're like "Oh please please please don't be trash. Please don't have 3 neck tattoos like all the other chicks in that place"

So you meet her and she only has one neck tattoo and she speaks English and she's pretty nice, and she's ok looking.

And you're like "Whew. Dodged a bullet right there. Coulda been way worse. I'm still not Facebook unfriending his ex.  No freaking way."

So Krstic had an ok first game.

Big freaking deal.

Krstic: Better offensive game
Perkins: Better defensive game

Claiming Perkins is like a hot, smart girlfriend while Krstic is some chick who thankfully has one tattoo instead of three.....to call that absolutely unfair would be a severe understatement. Oh yea, and isn't Perkins out for 2-3 weeks?

Both clearly have pros, and considering their cons (you know, like Perk not being as healthy as Krstic, and probably wanting big money in the off-season), Danny felt it was better to go with Krstic.

At the end of the day, no matter how you spin it, Krstic's not nearly as bad as you're making him out to be, and he showed that tonight for someone who's playing his first game in a new jersey.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
If Perk is a "great, great player," I can't wait to see what kind of metaphors would explode off my screen when, oh, say Bill Russell's name is mentioned...

Barefaced, you have got to be kidding. No one is attacking people for not liking the trade. Every post on here tonight had been about discussing Krstic and Green's performances, mostly talking about how well Krstic played. Eja goes into every thread and posts these incredibly sarcastic comments using ridiculous analogies, and all a few people have said, is ask him why he is so negative, and then you go out and make comments like this. As though everyone is ganging up on and "attacking" some one who simply wished to express that they didn't like the trade. Come on. You're unbelievable.

Well, I'm happy with what I saw from both.

From what Doc is asking Jeff to do, he'll take a few games to get into a groove. Looks like Doc is giving him a wide berth to operate in, which is good. Not a bad game, to me. He showed patience, and had a decent block as well.

He had one sequence when he was guarding Kaman, and did well. Showed his versatility. I would not be surprised if he takes over games here in the future.

Nenad? I'm very encouraged - for his first game in Green. Very active around the basket...stronger than I thought. Very encouraging for me. He held his own a couple of times rebounding in traffic vs the quickness of Clip players.

When Nenad hit a long jumper, I could only imagine him doing that vs the Lakers. Hit that J a few times like that against LA? All of a sudden he's drawing slow-footed, long, shot-blocking Bynum (or Gasol) out of the lane.

If Nenad is doing that, we can shred them. Rondo, Paul, Jeff, or Ray will go right to the hoop. Much less probability of a blocked shot with just ONE of those LA trees in there.

Overall I'm happy with both. Not a perfect game from them, but very encouraging to me. Jeff is essentially playing two spots when he's in there with his postup capability. He can get it done, and he will.

Its funny how every time you read Jeff on this blog, you immediately think of Jeff Clark. :)

I think it is also important to remember that Green has never come off the bench...that can take some getting used to...

Yeah ;D

We need a nickname for Jeff and Nenad....Nenad should be an easy one...something like, "Chair-chucker", or something.

Tell ya what - I'd count THAT episode with Krstic as him having a mean streak. Not many of our opponents will try to push him around, that's for sure.

In our opponent's minds? "The C's got THAT center that chucked a chair last summer. We'd better not try anything with these Celtics."

"Besides being a solid player, dude's got a mean streak we need to avoid."

I love it! Welcome to Boston, Nenad!

I liked what I saw from Krstic as far as instinct goes ... being where the ball comes down and the up-fakes ... I also liked Green being the first off the bench to congratulate the guys coming off the floor at breaks ... he already shows that Celtic heart and pride. Let's give these guys a little time before we get too critical, as this is a tough, complicated system to learn.

Perkins was a hell of a role player... that doesn't mean that Green and Kristic won't be.  Let's just hope the big 4 accept this and we go on to win a championship.
