Bad post, this should be posted only when and IF we win the championship this year.

If we dont win or make it to the finals this trade was one of the worst of the year, if not the worst.

Your reaction assumes that we would have gotten to the finals without trading Perk. Not necessarily true. I TP OP for spending the time to break all this down and putting a lot of thought into it. I like the trade myself, and feel that it will be looked upon as a very good trade a few years from now. Nothing will ever approach the McHale Parrish for Joe Barely Cares dimension, but that is a once in a century great trade.

We had a starting five that had won a championship together and been to the finals last year. Danny shouldn't have tinkered with it. I love the fact that Green is a Celtic...Krstic is another story.

Perk and Rondo played very limited roles on the 2008 championshp teams.  PJ Brown probably played more minutes than Perk in the finals and Rondo was benched several times in the series.  He was too young to handle it and that's why Cassel was brought in.  The big three carried us to the title that year with some timely contributions from PJ and Powe in the playoffs, and Posey and House all year long.

Obviously Rondo's role on the team is much larger now, and Perk's while he was here was only slighly larger.  Sure they played on a championship team but they weren't huge factors.
Heck even Pollard got a ring with us; so does that make him a valuable player?

Perk did not play game 5 in the series. In the other 5 games, he averaged 18 minutes a game. PJ averaged 18 minutes a game in the 5 games that Perk played.

Rondo's minutes were like a yoyo -- 35, 42, 22, 17, 15, 32

Talk about hyperbole. Potentially a good trade, but best trade ever -- highly doubtful.

Well, if you put the emphasis on "potentially" then you never know?  What if Perk is never the same, and Jeff Green sticks around and we win a couple titles?  What if he becomes that 4th piece we need to prolong Pierce and Ray's career?

I think some of you guys are just too down on this deal...

Well IF Shaq can play 25 minutes a game and IF JO comes back healthy and IF Danny signs someone worthwhile to at least one of the open roster spots and IF Doc can pull a miracle and integrate 3-4 new guys into the Celtics system with 25 games left and IF the Celtics actually get to the finals, I will call this a good trade. I don't like the trade, but I won't call it good or bad until the season plays out.

HAHA Come on Vinnie, you won't call it good or bad until the season plays out? Do you think no one here has read any of your comments or posts? You've been KILLING it and Danny since the moment you heard about it.

I don't like the trade. Too many ifs. But no trade can be charged until the full results are in.

If the Celtics pick up Murphy or point guard help, and the lottery pick amounts to something, it has the potential to be a blockbuster!

The open roster spots could be filled with Murphy, Dalembert, The Ripper Hamilton...please no Leon Powe...the knees are gone, folks

Krstic is as good a starting center as Perk and Green will help add youth...Nate was a very small gunner...Murphy is a double double waiting to happen...Larry Bird called Murphy the best player on Indiana last year...think about it!

What's not to like?

Krstic is a jump shooting center who doesn't really like to bang inside. He is nowhere near as good as Perk as a starting center. Muprhy has played hardly at all this year and has had problems with his back and legs in past years.

There is the potential (and I repeat "potential") that we just traded away the next Sam Bowie...

greg oden has that title locked down...same team too ;D

You know when Danny acquired Ray from Seattle, I hated the trade.

Now we have Delonte and Green back.  Plus we have the Clips first round pick.

Plus we won an NBA championship and are serious contenders this year.

I'd say that's pretty good trading.

It has the potential to be a very bad trade if we don't win it all.

I'm excited to have Jeff Green...but I don't see how this trade is "Potentially on the best in Celtics History". If you just take a look at recent history only, the trades that got us banner 17 were the best.

Green and Krstic haven't even stepped on the court yet...let's hold off on handing our awards and laurels untill then.
"If you just take a look at recent history only, the trades that got us banner 17 were the best."

But can a trade between ex-Celtics teammates really be counted?

 ;)

It's called sarcasm. He was making a joke. Were you personally offended by his comment?

and to answer your question, a lot more than you.

... note the lack of sarcasm.

Bad post. Who says we win if we kept Perk?

You need to prepare a better reply if you are going to criticize the OP. At least he put thought into his reply instead of just posting knee-jerk reactions.

I was repeating what the other poster had said. Not questioning your knowledge. As for " a lot more than you"...well, I don't want to comment on that.

You use "you're wrong" "you're ignorant" "I'm right" more than any other poster on this blog...so, I don't want get into any arguement regarding that. I haven't attacked you personally...so please return the favour.
