Hopefully he gets back before April and gets some kind of rythm for the playoffs. And of course hopefully he stays healthy (enough) once he is back.

Good, we could use another useless big body so Shaq can get some rest.

Before the regular season is over is a little encouraging. Will he have enough playing time under his belt before the playoffs?

I've never been more suspect of a Celtics player's health than JO.

Doesn't the regular season end in mid-April?  I should hope he'd be back by then, since it was supposed to be a 6 to 8 week recovery for his surgery.  This tweet doesn't make me optimistic that he's ahead of schedule, despite Danny saying he looks great.

All we can really do at this point is take him at his word. I'd love to see him back and playing healthy. He's really a very good player when healthy and fun to watch.

He also was going to be back in February after a month of rest and a strenuous exercise program for his knee. Just reminding everyone.

Let's hope so--or he'll likely be of little use at all.

Let's keep in mind that he's 31.  The notion that he can bounce back from midseason surgery is not an impossibility.

Maybe.  And it's very likely too much to expect him to ever be what he was a few years ago.  But I don't see any reason he couldn't be as good as he was last year, which is really more than we really need.

People love to write athletes off, but they can bounce back.  I remember last year when KG was cooked because he was 33 and came out of high school.  I also remember Elton Brand being labeled as done.

Both statements ended up completely false.

JO is trash. He's lost all confidence in his own basketball ability. And the fact that he's coming off surgery and as DarkLord put it the "oldest 31 I've ever seen". I have to say I don't care if he comes back. As far as I'm concerned he's just another 6 fouls.

I'm less concerned with when he comes back than I am with how long he can manage to stay on the court before the inevitable next injury that either keeps him out of games or becomes his excuse for subpar play.

I have zero faith in JO.  None.
