Wow, I didn't realize how good of a 3pt shooter Murphy is for his career 39% on 2.3 attempts per game.

He is also a beast on the board up until this season when he hasn't played much . Averaging 8.5 for his career.

Can anyone look up his post defense and pick and roll defense is he a strong defender?

He's a pretty slow, stiff, and lazy defender.  It's a major weakness.  I've read at least a few reports that his defense is so bad that it makes his offensive and rebounding contributions neutral, but I think that if he's used in the proper spots, he can be a big asset.

Exactly, I would love to get him for his offensive potential and rebounding ability. But his deficiencies defensively are the reason I want us to sign another tough big to clog the lane like Pryzbilla. But it looks more and more like none of those guys are going to get bought out.

Me too. He'll be fine as the 15th guy off the bench.

Exactly...first Delonte and now maybe Powe too. I hope Danny doesn't bring back Mikki Moore though. ;D

I honestly don't get it. Leon Powe, who has hardly played a game in 2 years, appears to be the first guy Danny is going to sign to one of the three open roster spots. Hopefully he doesn't have to play much if at all. Leon is a great character guy, but he won't help the Celtics win a championship. I guess Danny is concerned that by trading Perk, we don't have enough guys on the team who have horrendous knees.

it;s clearly a boost for team chemistry after losing Perk, we haven't signed anyone else because no one else has been bought out yet. The 15th man won't see meaningful playoff mins anyways unles 2 of KG,BBD Green go down or are in foul trouble.

First of all I really like Powe. That said.......

We've got Shaq who's always hurt. JO who's not seen the floor almost all year and we're picking up a guy who we know has health issues? Is this the best they can do?

If Powe is better and can play even close to how he did before then great. If not then I'm not so sure he's better then our token white guys we gave up.

I can say token white guys because I'm white.  ;)

My main question is why doesn't Danny wait to see if better guys become available?

Powe will bring a certain toughness and character that few players can match. Still, I'm hoping there is more to be done.

He's available right now. Shaq still a week away, JO even longer.

We need bodies. Why not sign him now, and see what he has? If he can hack it, great. If he can't, as so many seem to believe, then we'll soon know, and can go to Plan B.

we still have 2 open roster spots , and like I said the 15th man is basically the towel waiver on the bench. He is our new Scal

Powe couldnt even crack the rotation in freakin Cleveland... Why would we sign him to play here? Wait to see who else gets bought out, not the 13th or 14th man on the worst team in the league coming off major knee surgery...This is getting ridiculous.
