He was just on Comcast sports and he said that he talked to someone in the GSW organization and they said he might stick with the warriors because they need his size.

Also talked about Leon Powe and said there is a decent chance he ends up with the C's.He talked to Powe and Powe said his knees were fully healed( not sure if I buy it) They were talking about it being a great thing for the chemistry of the C's.

UPDATE

Quote
Fully expect Powe back in Boston -- told Celts operating under belief it's a done deal -- but heard tonight NYK and now Memphis still tryin

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Powe would definitely help with "re-camaraderize" the Celtics with the swift departure of Perk, but I don't know, is he REALLY going to provide what he did back in 08? Besides, I think what we really need is a bigger center type player. It would be good to get Murphy and/or Powe, though, as they are clearly better than what we have now.

Terrible news.

So Perk gets injured against GS, possibly factoring into his trade, then the Bay Area team is going to hold onto a decent rebounding shooting replacement to finish the season on a team that has next to zero chance of making the playoffs.

I now hate another team in California.

Not really excited about Powe the player...love the guy though

I was and still am all for the trade, but if Leon Powe is our big man edition then Danny made a mistake.

we still have 2 other roster spots. We can still pick up another big man and PG /wing

The more I think about it , the added chemistry boost might be worth it ...

it would only be the vet min and he would be the 14/15 man . He knows the system

Get Powe back.....

In some other capacity other than a player…..the organization can use a class act like this kid….He deserves it….He literally sacrificed his body and career for this team playing hurt when we needed him the most..If he stayed healthy that year, playing like he was, we would’ve had a good chance at a ring…even without KG…too bad…

As a player now...need to see those hops again....don't think they're there.

I love Powe, and would probably be okay with him as the 15th man on the roster, to replace Luke.  However, we do have a fairly substantial need for more depth up front.  Let's hope GS is bluffing to get Murphy to bring his buyout price down.

Well Danny put too many eggs in one basket. Trading Erden and Harangody with the hope of getting Murphy, being confident that he wouldn't go to Heat or Magic. Now he might stay in Golden State?

Plan B is not Powe... I liked the kid but he has had 3 knee injuries... 2 of which needed surgery, he's "done" and I'd rather give his spot to that Chris Johnson kid if he came down to either Powe or him.

So what is plan C, D and E... because we might need them in order to fill the bench with players.

Leon Powe should only be signed to be the 15th man on the roster. Other than that, no thanks.

While I'm not convinced it's Murphy, I am convinced that for Danny to give away the at least "serviceable" Erden, he must've been confident that he could get someone better.  I don't think he would've done it if he hadn't talked to someone's agent and came to some understanding.

Either that or he must be very, very confident about Jermaine coming back better than he was earlier this year.

This could simply be a way for the Warriors' FO to attempt to apply some leverage to Murphy, who has been rumored to want every dollar owed to him on his current contract.

If he wants to break his streak of games without having appeared in the playoffs, he may need to accept less than that full amount.

As for Powe, I have no problems signing him, provided it doesn't compromise our ability to land another big man down the line.

We need as many bodies as possible to keep KG, Shaq, JO, etc. fresh for the playoffs.
