Goes with the theme of recycling former players.

Dude's a scrub who's career highlight is being on the floor when Tony Allen threw an ally-oop to Gerald Green off the backboard.

Yeah but he's the all time D-league rebounding leader!

I wuoldnt mind signing him as the 15th roster spot. However, if we get Murphy, we might not need to use that spot on a center.

He would not be worse than Johnson.

He would not be worse than Johnson.

He's not.  If he was just below average offensively, he would be on an NBA team right now.

Defensively and rebounding wise, he is average to slightly above average.  His offense makes Ben Wallace  look like Wilt.

If the C's were gonna use a permanent roster spot on guys like Chris Johnson and Dwayne Jones, I'd have to question why they gave Semih Erden away.  I hope the 3 open spots would only be used on someone who would actually contribute in the playoffs.  They wouldn't waste their money otherwise.

Johnson has no upper body strength.  He really can't defend a good post up player.  Here are the stats between the two:

Chris's DL stats
FG % is .52%
RPG is 9.6
BPG is 2.8
PPG is 16.8
TO  is 2.61

Chris's NBA stats
FG % is .67%
RPG is 1.0
BPG is 3.0
PPG is 6 PPG
TO is 1.0
NBA games played 3.  Zero playoff games to his credit.

Dwanye's DL stats
FG % is .57%
RPG is 13.7
BPG is 1.8
PPG is 14.7
TO  is 2.48

Dwanye's NBA stats
FG % is .30%
RPG is 3.3
BPG is .4
PPG is 1.6 PPG
TO is .8
NBA Games played 24 in NBA  that alone ought to show you who has been called up more.   7 Playoff games to his credit.

It's really early to judge Johnson's NBA Career.  But I've seen him  easily pushed around.  Shame is he is a darn good athlete just doesn't have an NBA body.  He has an athletic body like a Marathon runner....

We can't sign Jones anyways can we he with the Suns.

Jones isn't with the Suns, rather in some Chinese team.

The only thing he can do is to rebound and the occasional weak-side shot block. Other than that, he has terrible balance, coordination, awareness and hands. Awful motor, a mentally lazy player.

He isn't a NBA player. There's a reason why he dominated the D-League during a couple of seasons and nobody would bother to call him up except for the occasional try-out. This while dozens of other D-League players were earning 10 days contracts.

He isn't even good enough for mid-tier teams in Europe. He's good for the the Chinese or Philippines league. That level of competition. Chris Johnson looks better than that.

Rather have Dahntay Jones.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Maybe so they would take Harangody's contract off our hands?

I agree with your point. Johnson was an emergency guy needed right after the trade before guys where with the team.

I'd rather have Sean Williams or Courtney Sims if we go the d-league route.
