Sorry guys that I have to bring up another sad thread

To be honest, when I found out that Perk got traded at the library, I almost got kicked out because I was furious, I was thinking to myself "WHY!, Perk works so hard to come back from injury and hes our defensive guy in the paint, hes so important WHY!"

went back to my dorm later that evening to find out that Luke+Semih for a 2nd rounder in Cle even got me even more angry. CLE basically is giving us Anthony Parker for FREE in return to get a 1st rounder from us, theres our backup for Pierce

When I found out that Danny Ainge was going to be on the pre-game live at 10, I waited and waited until the clock hits 10 PM, to see the talk and it looked like Tommy Heinson was ready to kill Danny

then Danny came on and said something

"Basketball no matter how you look at it, you have to play it in both ends, defensively and offensively" Without Perk we were already doing well and the defense was already there, not to mention Shaq on the floor with Rondo is better offensively.

Our recent injury bug and inconsistent bench really is bothering everyone, seeing Nate chucking 3s after 3s, Delonte was hurt, Shaq and JO was out.

and now we have 3 spots left open and with a lot of buyouts in talk right now...

I kind of believe in Danny Ainge, because

A. our offense off the bench is indeed inconsistent
B. our defense will still be there (kind of)
C. Perk injured his MCL, it says strain MCL but we all know anything that have to do with ACL or MCL is pretty serious (well in my opinion). Before the trade, Perk was going to miss the remainder of the west coast trip, but I seriously doubt he'd be back right after, always thought anything near the knee is serious

Therefore I 100% believe when the playoff comes, Shaq and JO will be there to help us. JO is not 100%, nor do we need him to be. He just needs to play defense for us

I panicked a little, but now I'm trusting Danny Ainge will make the right choices

I can at least understand his thinking for the Perk trade even though I don't agree with it.  You don't trade a bid to the championship because your fifth best player MIGHT leave that off-season.

Shipping out Daniels and Erden makes no sense at all, though

it will make sense in about a week or two

Or Danny will look extremely stupid.

So Danny knows exactly who will be bought out and where they will sign?

Daniels was done for the year most likely and Erden cannot be counted on in the playoffs. Semih has looked absolutely terrible the past few weeks. We gave up nothing by letting them go. I can't figure out why people are upset over that. I get why people are upset about Perk, but Semih? Our championship chances take a hit because we let Semih go?

I'm not sure what the disguise is.  This was a good trade.  Yes, it was a risk, because they are rolling the dice that at least one of the Oneals will be healthy for the playoffs, but overall, it was a good trade, with the potential to be great if they do get some good health out of their other centers.

Therefore I 100% believe when the playoff comes, Shaq and JO will be there to help us. JO is not 100%, nor do we need him to be. He just needs to play defense for us

Shaq better be as close to 100% by then as he can be. Because JO is done. And I'm talking all the way done. And even if he plays he'll not be in great shape and won't have any time under his belt with the team.

I don't think JO is done. I don't think Doc, Danny, or the team think that. I think he's doing everything he possibly can to be as healthy as he can come playoffs, even if that means sitting out until then. Will he be a huge contributor for us in the post season? Maybe not. But can he give us 15 good minutes a night? maybe.

That's a big maybe. And let's be honest, Doc and Danny don't always tell the truth when it comes to peoples health.  As far as I can tell JO is done until he proves me wrong.

Actions speak louder than words.  I don't think they make this trade if they think JO is done.

Exactly.  This isn't a disguise.  Danny has come out and told everyone his thinking and to me, it makes a lot of sense.  I believe he also said that he fully expect JO to come back this year and contribute. Put it all together and we got better, not worse for this year.

Say he isn't done. Say he can come off the bench and give us a few minutes a game. Well, probably more then just a few with the way Shaq is in foul trouble all the time.....

What can he give us? He's old and won't have what's left of his game legs because he's not played all year! The guy hasn't missed a few games. He's missed a year of ball.

That and he's not played enough with our guys to get to know them and how to play with them all that much. I don't see what he can give us other then some fouls.
Peace through Tyranny
