"All the negativity that's in this town sucks!"

Like Roy Hobbs states in his post, he is not as smart as Danny.

We don't not know this team as well as Danny. We don't know Perkins as well as Danny. Give the trade a chance. People who claim that we have zero chance this year are absolutely crazy. People calling for Danny to be fired ought to be ashamed, and at best, can be called ungrateful. We don't know if it was a good or bad trade yet, don't call for Danny's head. If we lose in the playoffs because of a lack of size and then Jeff Green walks at the end of the year, then we can call it a terrible trade and people can start asking for Danny to be fired, but come on. As of right now all Danny's done is taken a terrible team, brought us a ring, brought us an annual contender, and now traded our fifth (sixth?) best player for arguably an upgrade and a draft pick. Let's see how it shakes out before people start taking time to photoshop pictures calling for Danny to be fired.

Give the trade a chance to work or fail.

I mean this isn't like the Wally for Ricky deal...and it certainly isn't like the Antoine for Raef deal.

This time we actually traded for the athletic guy and not the injured one.

How healthy Perk is for the rest of the season and playoffs will tell us what we need to know.  This is not a deal Danny wanted to do, but took a calculated risk at what was best for the team both now and in the future.

I was a little surprised in Danny's interview when he said all Perk wanted in an extension was 4 years 28 million. That seems really reasonable. So it'll be interesting to see what he signs for in the offseason also. If he signs a 4 year 40 million dollar deal, letting him go makes a little more sense. If he resigns in OKC for 4 years and 24 million, it won't look so good for Danny, especially if we don't raise number 18, which we will.

I'm actually looking forward to Perk's 10 minute special on ESPN where he chooses his next team this summer...

Last I checked, the two guys we brought here both started for a first place 36-win team...

that's the impression I got from Ainge's comments yesterday. He would never throw Perk under the buss, but in the nicest way he could, he implied that he was concerned about Perk and Semih's health for the rest of this year, and not at all concerned about the health of the Oneals, which was a big surprise to me, but then again, he sees them much more than any of us do.

Since when did Perkins become Patrick Ewing? Shaq's offense and Kristic's ability to the spread the floor on offense will almost make up for Perk's defense.  Top that off with the addition of Jeff Green and draft picks and this is a good trade.

Wow, to say people are a bit on edge after yesterday would be an understatement. Yes, it is understandable but to judge our performance yesterday is beyond crazy! The Celtics world is not about to be sucked into a huge black hole. In fact, this trade might work out in ways we could never have imagined.

Perk just came back from injury, and already got re-injured. There is no assurance he would have stayed healthy for remainder of year. We looked pretty pretty good without him for most of the year and if Shaq/JO can stay reasonably healthy and Green can add some additional needed fire power, I do not see why we cant win 18 this year. It will be nice to have a center who can finish around the rim to. It could prevent some double teams on our big 3.

I remember a certain baseball trade in 2004..OMG..Nomar traded, the Sox are done for sure! How could they trade Nomar?! The  Sox will never win a World Series now. We know how that turned out. Give Danny some slack, he has turned our franchise around in a huge way. This was not an easy decision to make but only Danny knows for sure what is really going on behind closed doors.

Lets see how it all plays out. I for one, am more inclined to hope that this could be the start of something even more amazing both now and in the future. Our Celtic World is not coming to an end and no, this season is far from over.

Seriously, why quote Pitino?  I get your gist.  But why qoute that Sleazeball who hurt the Celtics more than helped them.

Haha because Pitino may have been a terrible GM but his sentiment about this city wasn't wrong.

Oh, it's not necessarily negativity.  Call it grieving.  Many of us jumped right over denial to anger, and now are moving toward the depression and/or acceptance stages.  The "bargaining" stage will be where we talk ourselves into various buyout options.

This is funny...  "Grieving" is when a relative, close friend, or pet dies.  When a divorce happens.  When a national tragedy takes place...

Trading a technical-prone, mechanical average center, and a useless midget away for a pretty decent basketball player is not what I would call worth grieving over. :)

Yeah, losing Perk is tough enough without having to think about slick rick.
