Jeff Green has HUGE shoes to fill, I can easily see him getting booed at the Garden and being shunned by the rest of the team if he doesent produce.

Whose shoes does Green have to fill? Perk's? cus that's not his position. or is it nobody's, cus we havent had a consistent backup small forward since Posey! Also, we cant judge him entirely based on how he played in OKC. Those percentages should go up playing with Rondo. And let's face it, Russel Westbrook aint the best passer in the world. And, well, Rondo is.

       Jeff Green playing behind one of the best 3/4 duo's in the league is probably going to benefit any of his "shortcomings"......great size, speed, athleticism, and handle for his position. He is going to be a 6th man for us, no question. My only worry is his ability to handle pressure situations, and the change of scenery. I'll take Green over Tayshuan Prince at this point in their respective careers. Then we get Krstic, who is more capable on offense by far compared to Perk, and is more able-bodied down low then Perk right now.
     Top it off with a likely lottery pick, and it's worth giving up Perk who wants too much money for not being able to create his own shot, and Nate Rob who would be eating Delonte's minutes, and can be a turnover machine (between all the bricks and botched passes). I think everyone hating will eat their words come playoff time when Shaq is back, maybe JO too.
    Only thing I'm sweating is getting another big off the waivers, and after watching tonite, a backup PG because Bradley is clearly not ready. If the front office can line up the right waiver signings, we are a better team then before the trade on offense for sure, and I'd say just shy of where we were defensively, with the potential to outshine expectations.

My biggest worry/concern about this trade is that I basically don't know what to expect of Green. I have not seen him play much (if at all) and all the stuff I'm reading about him isn't making me excited at all.

He can finish.  I think Rondo just his safety valve trailer on the break!  Young teams might not run wild on us anymore.

What I like best about him beside the athletic ability shown is that he can shoot a bankshot.  Bankshots are a plus besides they are harder to block.  Your aiming higher to the shot is higher.  Most bigs have not mastered the bankshot these days.

We call Green "Uncle Jeff" here in OK.  This guy is the "nice guy".  Extremely level headed.  The guy has the same expression on his face if the team is up by 20 and he's scored 30 points as he would if they were down by 20 and he was 0-10 from the field. I've never ever seen the guy get flustered. He's been accused by some fans as playing with a lack of enthusiasm and emotion. I don't think there's ever been a lack of effort, it's just his personality. He'll be great at the 3.  His offense with his back to the basket is golden, in my opinion. That is, if he's playing at the 3. We've wondered if this whole contract situation and all of the media coverage about Green has affected his play this year. People here have been saying he's pretty much done in OKC and he'll get traded or picked up in FA at the end of the year. I have to wonder if there's something to that. Perhaps its difficult to play to your full ability when you are not playing your ideal position and you are playing on a team that you feel might not want to keep you around much longer.

Sucks Perk had to go, but I like where the team is going.

Rondo Bradley and Green will be hopefully be part of the nucleus into the future. Green is the perfect 6th man as he can play and guard 3 different positions (Big SGs not guys like Ellis or Terry but for example Maggette, Joe Johnson, etc.)

He will also be able to give us a lot of flexibility and can extend the floor/finish games.

Rondo/Allen/Pierce/Green/KG is a great finishing lineup.

We easily got the best player in the deal. Especially with Perk about to head into Free Agency and not 100% yet. Once Shaq is ready and if JO can give us 15 mins I like this move. Kristic is also a huge offensive upgrade over Perk and has some range as well. I think this move really opens up the floor for us which will force other teams to man up on defense. We no longer have any defensive liabilities.

I am amazed by the divergence of opinion on this guy. Kelly Dwyer, our own (Roy Hobbs), and the ESPN guy for the Lakers say he is a terrible defender. Yet guys like Peter May or Bob Ryan (neither of whom are known for the sentimentality) say it was a great trade for the Celtics, because in part Green was the best player in the trade (something that Roy does not agree with). I have no clue who has got this right.  I just have not paid much attention to this guy as a player.  I know there are stats to get the stories rolling, but I prefer to watch how he plays, on both ends of the court, before reaching a verdict here on this trade.

No one in the west is asking anyone to defend.

Really looking forward to his player I think his game is really helpful..

Perhaps he's like Roy Hibbert in the sense that he just needs to be in the right system. However I see him being flipped for Dwight anyways.

Because he's a 3 that usually ends up playing the 4 spot. I think we'll find, when playing a more natural position, he'll be a good defender.

well he needs to be enough better at what he does well than what we lose by not having Perk manning the back line of our defense.

So in effect he does have big shoes to fill. The only way this trade makes any sense is if Green quickly figures out how to be a major contributor for the Cs. If he doesn't, then our chances of even making the Finals has taken a major hit because Perk gave us advantages against key competitors ORL, MIA, CHI, and LAL...

what advantage is Green going to give to make up for losing our big advantage up front.

and count me amongst the people who really have no idea what Green will do here and is VERY scared because more really should be known about him as a player at this point...
