Feels like Juri Welsch all over again... Ainge hypes him up, rejects a few trade offers that include him, then all of a sudden someone covets him and we end up getting more than he's worth.

If Ainge is confident that the O'Neals are healthy for the playoffs, or at least one of them, I doubt he'd hesitate in trading Erden, regardless of where Murphy is going. Erden is an end of bench player, the only way he sees playoff minutes is if both O'Neals are out - and even in that case it'd only be situational minutes, when someone gets in foul trouble and stuff like that. No way he makes the regular playoff rotation.

In that scenario where Boston has guaranties they'll land Troy Murphy, he'd probably shop Glen Davis, not Erden.

Glen Davis is our 6th man and most important bench player, hes untouchable, Glen is leagues and bounds more valuable then Erden to us. Murphy is getting bought out, so a trade isnt needed, just have to get him to accept coming here at a chance of winning a championship.

Maybe Danny sold Boston to Murphy by saying that we got Battier/Lee from the Rockets and that this was Murphy's best shot at a ring? Just wow if this happens. Amazing job by Danny.

The only thing I can say is that I didn't see the check mark with the description "Verified Account" or something next to it. Otherwise, that'd be a dead giveaway in the pic that the account was real and Erden screwed up.

Perhaps Twitter didn't bother having Erden prove it was really him? Cause if it's really a fake account, what's the point in having it deleted after it being up for so long to the point that every media guy and his mom is already following Erden?

And I'd personally be ticked off if this kept us from a big trade.

And no, Alex Kennedy denying that the account was real doesn't necessarily prove that the account was fake either. Alex could very easily have a scoop on a deal between Houston and Boston and is doing his best to cover up for Erden's mistake.

How would it ruin a trade?  If it was that close that his agent told him he's going to HOU why would either side walk away from the trade because Semih semi revealed the trade a day early?

I can open the Twitter link from the original post just fine, and the post about Houston is still there.

edit: Or should I say it's there _again_, since it appears to have been made 11 minutes ago (it's now 3am, this thread was open at 11:50).

would it look like this...

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6aj2mer ???

No.  There would be angry mobs in Houston if their FO did something that dumb.

Battier is an elite wing defender.  Aaron Brooks is just a year removed from almost making the All-Star team.  Budinger is a solid prospect who is already producing for them.  Yet somehow we're going to trade a couple of average prospects and our scrap heap for all three of them?  No way.  Not to mention that Quis has to approve any trade for us to be able to move him.

I'm want to think that Erden's tweet was legit, but I can't really see any way that Houston and Boston match up as trade partners.  Battier would clearly be our target, but he's on an expiring contract so it's not like we could potentially save them money.

Something like Battier for Erden, JO, a pick and cash to buy JO out is the only thing I can think of.  They get a decent prospect at a position of need in Erden without having to take on the burden of a multiyear contract.  I still feel like they could get more for Battier, but I think that's about the most we could/would give them (it seems like Danny is more or less unwilling to move Bradley at this point).

I saw this one on the realgm forums;

Sign Troy Murphy and you've got a championship team.

I believe Gomesfan that it's a real account. I'm not sure why Gomesfan would make all that up. Hopefully there really is a trade. I'm sure the teams just didn't want it released via twitter, thats why they shut it down. Just checked, and for what it's worth, the account is back up and the post is still there.

If there is a deal, I would bet it's as simple as Battier for Semih, Nate, and Daniels. Works financially like that. Maybe even a pick going to Houston. It would depend on Keys being willing to waive his no trade though. I would absolutely love that deal.

Houston has said they're not resigning Battier this off season, so he is definitely available to trade. They've also said they're looking for big men. They like foreign players, and I think Semih has some actual value around the league. This trade makes a lot of sense on multiple levels. Let's all hope.
