Add this to the rumor list. Adrian Wojnarowski tweets:

"Miami has been trying to pry Brendan Haywood, offering Mike Miller as part of package, but Mavs have consistently resisted, source says"

If this is true, why would the Mavs say no to riding themselves of Haywood's awful deal? 5 years at about 10 mil a year to have him sit the bench and not even play? Cuban is crazy not to deal him to any team that wants to take him off his hands. I like Haywood, but what a burden that deal is.

think about how injured our centers are. i know we're an exception, but if chandler were to get injured, their season would be done if haywood is gone.

they have nothing behind chandler if haywood leaves, and against LA, you need all the size you can have.

Haywood's deal is not that much worse than Miller's.

List all of the back up centers in the nba better then Haywood. Heck list all of the starters better then him, there is probably only 15...

Can't blame Dallas for turning this down.

They're a true contender.  Big guys are at a premium even at his cost.

Haywood's deal is not that much worse than Miller's.

Miller's got a 5 year deal worth 29 mil. Haywood's got 6 years worth 53 mil. That's almost double Miller's deal with practically the same amount of years. Miller's 5th year, and Haywood's 6th are both options.

Haywood's final year is fully non-guaranteed.

Miller: 5 yrs, $29 mil
Haywood: 5 yrs, $42 mil

Mark Cuban won't sweat $13 mil over 5 yrs.

Especially when they're looking to win it all this year.

Cuban loves those contracts. Just like Damp's contract... It's how he got Chandler.

I don't blame them.  I would much rather be paying a quality center like Haywood than paying a wing like Miller (who has not looked good at all this season and has always been an injury risk).

I think they would gladly move Haywood for the right deal, but Miller is just not nearly enough.

I think also they'd look harder at making the deal if the other team wasn't Miami.

Definitely. Cuban hates Riley and Wade for obvious reason ala Finals 2006.

Don't know why Miami is so eager to unload Miller.  His shooting is below his standards thus far, but that'll come around and he's rebounding like a demon (over 9 per 36 from the wing!).
