if this is true, then the Nets win big. Not only did they drive up the price of Melo and make the Knicks pay through the nose, they also get a player better than Melo for much less.

So, does NJ / Brooklyn become the new favorite to land Dwight Howard in 2012?

This road trip sure got easier...Denver and Utah look to be easy wins now

Will the lakers, Mavs, or Thunder lose another game vs. the West all year?

If this is true, LOVE it for the Nets.  Williams is the type of player that can completely turn things around for them.  He can make the other players around him better in a way Melo can't.

  • Rondo = Good

Maybe.  They'll have their new arena by then, and perhaps they could entice the Magic with Brook Lopez.

Presumably. One reason I felt the Cs would be in play for Williams with Rondo.

Favors will go to Jazz with Harris, two first-round picks. Nets wlll send Troy Murphy to Golden State, and Warriors send Gadzuric to Nets.

So Murphy will be bought out pretty shortly I'd imagine.

Crazy.  It's rare that such a blockbuster trade happens so far below the radar.  Wonder if it developed fast or if the teams were just very discreet about it.

And it gets harder for Rondo to play in the All*Star game.

awesome move for the Nets. DWilliams and Lopez are as good a foundation as it gets. They have the 2 most important positions locked down.

Crazy! It was totally unexpected. You can say what you want about the trades in the NBA but it's really at its best when you learn a big trade like that without any precursive sign.

I think one of Favors, Jefferson or Millsap will get traded, I don't see the point of having them three together. As for NJ if they can get Deron to sign an extension it will be all good. Otherwise...

Does this mean the Nets have given up on Farmar?

I think getting Farmar in the first place is kind of giving up.

Jefferson to the Thunder? That would make sense for OKC but I have NO idea how a deal could get done.
