Once bought out by Golden State after trade from NJ, Troy Murphy will choose among Boston, Miami and Orland, source tells @CBSSports.

I might be wrong.. but isn't he left handed?

Anyone else remember the last left handed, three point-shooting center we had?

I do.. and Danny seemed to love him for a bit.

Oh, and Murphy won't be on a trillion dollar contract with one leg like Raef LaFrentz was (It's been way too long since I heard that name.. Come on, guys. It's one of the best in league history) So yea, I'd be fairly interested in him, if we can open a roster spot via trade.

With three of the C's five players over 6'8" chronically injured, they could well use Murphy--and for Miami not to have him.

If he is smart he will come to Boston.  A guy named Murphy playing for the Celtics would go over well, indeed.  I bet they would call him Dropkick.

If only because I wouldn't want him on orlando or miami then yes we need him.  I like his game and not taking contracts  into account if we can get him then semih(davis) and nate for battier or another sf (prince)and we are set to go!
Murphy has always been a  very good rebounder, he's mobile, he shoots 3's better than nate  :-[.  I would love to nab him as a backup to perk for upcoming years.

I'd take him.

At best he could be a game changer on the boards and perhaps hit a few shots from outside.

At worst he wouldn't pick up the defense well enough to earn time in the playoff rotation but he could still eat some minutes in a pinch (read: days when O'Neal, O'Neal, Semih, and Perk are all limping for one reason or another)

I don't give up Baby for the sake of this season or Semih for the sake of the future.

We have Davis for 1/2 a season under contract, then he's heading to highest bidder.  Murphy(length)  isn't old and ready to retire and battier or prince give us the pieces needed.  I think davis is very important to this years team but if we can get someone like murphy coupled with battier then I'd jump all over the deal.  Mind you these are pipe dream perfect deals in MY head.
Would I take Murphy off the wires, YES.  With him on team we need to make a space, daniels, nate, luke and avery...choose one and what would you do? nate for a draft pick? he isn't going to garner a 1st rounder.  Luke I actually think has an nba future as a back up niche pf.  Bradley hasn't proven anything.  Daniels if he can't come back this year, cut him?

If the Celtics can make a 2 or 3 for 1 deal, Murphy would be great.

JO + Nate + Quis to Cleveland for Jamison and Parker?

Then bring in Murphy?

JO + Davis + Bradley + Daniels for Hamilton?

Rondo/Robinson
Allen/West/Wafer
Pierce/Hamilton
Garnett/Murphy
Perkins/S.O'Neal/J.O'Neal

he brings more offense than daniels did...he can stretch the floor which would help vs LA...he would match up nice with lamar odom...i think he would be great

imagine this bench line up:

PG west
SG Nate
SF Murphy
PF Baby
C Shaq

that would be VERY hard for any team to overcome

Bib Baby was a free agent a couple years ago and nobody even got close to touching him. That was also the year where he filled in for KG during the playoffs and averaged 16 and 7 and hit a game winning shot in the ECSF.

I really don't see there being anyway for Baby not ending back on the C's. He hasn't exactly lit it up this season. He's been a good six man and that is how he is going to get paid. No one is going to over pay for him.

I dont know I dont really see the need for Murphy. If we could replace Harangody for Murphy I guess I would do it. But we need a back up three not another big man, unless we trade big baby which would just be a bad move at the moment.
