What do you guys think of this? Is it good or bad for the Magic? ZBo and Arenas in one team?

Terrible trade for Memphis. Wonderful acquisition for Orlando.

It would put Orlando back in the mix in the East. Superior to Chicago.

Memphis should re-sign Zach Randolph. They could have a nice team down there if they traded OJ Mayo for someone who can help.

How many bad defenders can the Magic add before they become a plain old bad defensive team?

Dwight Howard can only do so much.

This would be a coup for Orlando.

Pairing a pure post scorer that cant play post defense with a dominant defensive player always is a winning combination. Dwight would hide alot of ZBo's deficiencies.

Why would Memphis do this?  If they're going to put themselves out of the playoff hunt, how about giving us back Tony Allen or OJ Mayo?

Sounds like a Sam Smith rumor. I don't put much stock in it.

Yea great trade for Orlando, I really dont see why Memphis would do this especially with them fighting for a playoff spot. They trade Randolph and their playoff hopes are over.

I actually think it makes sense for both teams.  Orlando is obvious.  That would be a nightmare of a frontcourt for teams to match up with.

For Memphis, many of you argue that they are fighting for a playoff spot.  OK, they are the 9th seed in the West right now, about a 99.9% lock to be a first round elimination, and then are going to lose a 20-13 guy this offseason who they can't afford to bring back.  So, they are going to do nothing in the playoffs if they even make it, and then will become worse next season.  So, if they like Bass and envision him as a solid starting PF, then sure, grab him now (he's definitely signed at a very good price) plus maybe they could resign J-Rich for a reasonable amount next season with his Bird Rights (they'll probably need after they extend Gasol).

Huge win for the Magic if they could pull off this trade. I doubt Memphis would pull the trigger on the deal.

This deal would leave Orlando very thin on the wing, but Randolph on that team would be scary.

Yeah, it would be completely worth it.  They could move Arenas to SG, which may be where he should be playing anyways, given the step and a half he has lost.  They also still have Richardson, Redick and Turkoglu, all of whom are at least decent rotation players.

My hope is that the Grizzlies look at the standings and decide to keep Z-Bo and make a run to the playoffs. They should pass Utah and Denver in the last third of the season.

San Antonio vs Memphis would be one heck of a first round series.

That could be a close battle. Big advantage for San An in the backcourt positions but Memphis have a nice advantage at both forward spots plus the battle at center could be fairly even. George Hill and OJ Mayo off the bench. No other difference makers off either team's bench. That would be an interesting series.
