Rumor: CHI trades Johnson to Raptors?

Bulls have apparently traded James Johnson to the Raptors for a 1st rounder (via Miami).

In doing so, Chicago now has enough cap room to take back Anthony Parker or Courtney Lee for a draft pick.

If the reported numbers are correct, they're still about $433k short of being able to fit Parker under the cap.  They could fit Lee, however.

EDIT:  I was wrong; see below.  The Bulls would have just enough to sign Parker, assuming reported salaries are accurate.

The pick apparently was Miami's #1, which Toronto got in the Bosh deal.

CHI existing cap space: $1,203,752.

Johnson's salary: $1,713,600

CHI new cap space: $2,917,352.

Parker's salary: $2,855,769.

Should be enough, if the numbers I have (Shamsports, ESPN) are correct.

They did get the pick wrong, though. So who knows?

Yeah, my mistake.  I was using last season's cap number, dumbly.  It looks like they'd have about $67k to spare, so if the numbers are accurate, they'll have space.

Good, I hope they get Parker.

I'd rather see them get Parker than Rip. Even if Rip doesn't come here, he is still a much better player than Anthony Parker.

Super athletic combo forward out of Wake Forest.  24 years old but plays like he just came out of high school.  Very wild.  Still, very nice potential.  Could be Tyrus Thomas 2.0 if he stopped running around like a chicken with his head cut off.

I don't like this move for Toronto. They are already stocked athletic wings who can't shoot (Derozan/Weems/Wright). Why do they need another?

Very good trade for Toronto. They were highly unlikely to net a prospect of Johnson's caliber with Miami's late first round pick.

If Chicago have something valuable lined up here, then this trade is worthwhile for them. Otherwise, they gave up on a decent prospect too soon.
