I cant believe there are people on here who would actually trade Perk for Battier, that is absolutely ludacris.

Probably the same people that want to sacrifice a championship in order to be "good but not good enough to win a title" for the future. Makes no sense.

Perk and Davis in my opinion are untouchable. Davis is our 6th man and Perk is a huge key in winning a championship.

Without either of those two were screwed. Who would replace Davis? There isnt anyone out there that can replace what he does for this team thats an option right now.

Yes we need a backup SF, but it isnt worth giving up key players at other positions of need for him.

Completely agree.  Lets give up the second piece to our defensive anchor for a backup 3 (albeit a six man type player) ::).

If Battier wasn't expiring, I could see a potential deal (centered around Quisy's expiring contract, etc.). But since Battier is expiring, I don't really see a trade that works, unless we're willing to give up 1st round picks. 1 #1, okay. More than that is pushing it, especially since Battier is only under contract for the rest of this year. But pieces Houston would want, namely Perk or BBD, are untouchable, because we need them to compete this year. Trading them would negate our getting Battier, which kind of defeats the whole purpose. So...yeah, I don't think we can pull this one off.

Don't do this... don't tease me.

It's long been my wish to Shane in green. Just the thought of it make me.... I can't, it's too much.

Ditto! I've wanted to see Battier in green for years so just the fact that it is discussed is great... although it has 90% chances of not happening. I wouldn't trade Perk or Baby for Battier (although I would reconsider for Baby) but maybe a 3 team trade or JO + Semih and Nate would do it (one can dream).

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I don't understand how people can even begin to consider getting battier for perk or big baby.
Are you guys on crack?
Our two toughest young big men who have both proven themselves as MUST HAVES on this team and you want to trade one of them for a veteran to back up paul pierce?
Who comes in for KG and shaq if these 2 go?

I can't believe i just read some of those comments lol.

I agree that Perk is untradeable but you wouldn't even consider doing Baby for Battier? I know how important Baby is for this team but I would certainly consider this idea.

absolutely no way.
We need baby for the playoffs. he is our 6th man. he is a better 6th man than shane.
shane is great but he is NEVER worth baby or perk in my opinion.

I always like Battier too but I am afraid that Perk has proven he is back and a true asset.   I would be hesistant to trade Glen Davis as well.  He is our best man off the bench.

But if the deal was right I would pull the trigger for him.  I don't see us trading for say Battier and Patterson but if he were offered I would take a hard look at tossing Davis in this mix.  I recall reading Ainge was found of Patrick Patterson.   Now this might have been a somescreen but who knows.

Danny probably knows if BBD will sign or stay.   If he is going to walk we should get something for him.  There is no way of knowing what is going on though.  It would be risky as heck though.  The deal would have to be a good one.   BBD provides a lot of scoring punch and often finishes games for us.   He isn't ideal size but he is a good basketball player.

I'd rather see us package Nate, Daniels, Erden and Wafer and some picks for say Patterson and Battier.   Not likely to happen either though as its a one sided for us.

Well lets hope that they're right for once and it is basically built around us trading JO's expiring.

The Rockets ALWAYS win in these deals.

I hope Danny is smart enough not to give up too much.

Morey has made a lot of GMS look silly.

No source on this comment from a poster of The Dream Shake but here it is for what's it's worth :

Quote
Maybe the Battier to Celtics talks will heat up again. They offered us O’ Neal, Bradley, and a pick for him, which is a pretty solid deal. I’d like for us to go after Perkins though. Most underrated center in the NBA.

http://www.thedreamshake.com/2011/2/21/2007247/rockets-trade-rumors-nene-reportedly-off-the-market (check the "bone31crusher" post)

I do agree that it's a solid deal if this is really the offer. JO will expire next year, Bradley would fit in their plans in my opinion and a pick is a pick (it remains to be seen if it's a good one or not).

But probably not enough for Houston... unless they don't find any good offers out there and come back to this one.

The same Foolishness from last season who wanted Ray Gone last season. Thankfully Danny Ainge doesn't read this crap.

It is clear that Daniels is most likely done for the season. I would love to unload the deadweight that is jermaine o neal...
