All four of them would have won it last year.  It was a heck of a performance, and they all deserve a lot of credit for the show they put on tonight.

As for the outcome, I didn't think there was anything wrong with it.  I understand that much of the allure of Blake's final dunk was largely theatrics rather than actual dunking prowess, but I can accept that.  We're 25 years into this thing.  The original, pure-athleticism dunks have already been done - and you could see that, because when Blake put his forearm through the hoop the first thought of many people was "Vince Carter!" even though it was a great dunk and won Vince the contest.  In search of originality, contestants are forced to resort to showmanship.  That's alright with me.  The only one tonight who honestly focused on pure athleticism, free of any gimmicks like extra balls, extra rims, kids with toys, etc... was Demar DeRozan.  Answer me honestly... how many of you thought Demar should have won?  Because his was the purest basketball performance tonight.  He was great, don't get me wrong, and he would have won had he performed like this last year, but he was arguably the worst tonight.

It's only a matter of time before somebody jumps through a flaming hoop and dunks.

All of the dunks were spectacular and creative, which is exactly how the dunk contest should be...last years was an absolute travesty! Its going to take a TON of brainstorming to be able to top this years dunk contest.

Every dunk contest from now on will try to top this one.

a) Over the top theatrics.
b) Emphasis on winning the crowd.
c) Ultra creative dunks.

Its only up from here guys, the 2011 dunk contest will change the way the future ones look like, forever. I cant wait.

Yeah ... it's great to see they actually took notice from last year and did what they could to improve it, (though a lot has to do with the talent as well). The only thing I disagree with is the fan voting, cuz whenever that happens, it changes from a competition to a popularity contest. If they really need to do it, use it in the early stages when it counts less, and let those who really know the game decide the winner. But a 100% improvement over last year.

Didn't the Phoenix Suns cheerleaders used to that at halftime shows?

Not if it was a FLAMING HOOP of DEATH with perhaps a SHARK TANK underneath it.

I fear this is where this circus is headed.

I have been watching Maria Menudos (sp?) interviewing players on the red carpet.  She is beautiful, but I find her very hard to take...reminds me of that old commercial line, "But enough about me, what do you think of my dress?"

It's "Maria Menounos". She is Greek-American

I think the (sp?) was for spelling not "Spanish?"  ;) ....though Menudos would be more of a Spanish name than Menuonos.

It's all Greek to me.

Right, Redz   ;D  American was all I thought, but if I had known she was Greek-American, I might have misspelled it differently!

Why is Russel Westbrook wearing a jersey so tight it looks like a darn near bathing suit?

****!

They are the new "optional skin tight all-star jerseys"

I bet you Rondo is gonna wear one of them.

Also Maria Menounos is like 5'9. Wow.
