The team sitting in 3rd place is getting back their best defensive big man, a guy who can and has given the C's fits in the past... seriously he's the only guy on the Bulls who really concerns me and he's barely played this year.

But what really bothers me is how well their head coach knows our team, and how to exploit weaknesses.  With Noah coming back I am actually thinking the Bulls might be the biggest challenger to the C's out of the east this year.

While I still have little doubt that the C's win a 7 game series, I'd be more comfortable if someone told me why the Bulls will lose in the playoffs.

Yes, they are a VERY good team.  I think they have a real weakness on the wing, which will keep them from getting over the top this year, but this team is going to be very dangerous.

They're also incredibly dependent on Rose for their offense. (which slightly below average)

Very similar team to the C's.

It's hard to have a top-tier offense when you're consistently playing with Kurt Thomas and Keith Bogans.  Once Noah comes back, and if they can add a defensive SG with a bit more of a scoring game, I think they'll be a lot stronger.

They've had an average to bad offense all year. And Bogans is playing primarily because of defense, I mean why else would he...

They also have gotten better defensively without Noah, which is weird.

Definitely, and that they're deficient on the wing.  But Boozer is still a beast, and depending on who they pick up at the trade deadline it could really vault them above the Heat and Magic, in my opinion.

I think the Bulls will stand pat at the deadline, they never make any major moves.

Excellent team, but I don't think they match up very well with a healthy C's squad. Rose and Boozer, their two best offensive players, and the guys that generate almost all of their offense, play the same positions as our two best defensive players, Rondo and Garnett.  That's not to say that they won't score (especially Rose), but their bread and butter plays will be well-contested and their efficiency will suffer.

As for their defense, they do have an excellent Pierce defender in Deng, but they'll have problems with Ray, KG and Shaq; Rondo also should be effective at getting into the paint.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Yeah, probably true.  The Bulls have been an extremely frustrating franchise.  It's kind of sad that their two biggest recent moves prior to this off-season were signing Ben Wallace to a horrible contract and trading LaMarcus Aldridge for Ty Thomas.

I can understand the Aldridge/Thomas thing, Thomas is/was an elite talen just like Aldridge.

Honestly before his play the past two months Aldridge wasn't anything all that special either. I'm curious to see if he'll keep it up.

Yeah, but Aldridge has undoubtedly been the more successful of the two, and it was a strange trade at the time, since the one type of player they've been looking for for several years was a post scorer, or at least somebody who can score consistently from the PF position.

Boozer finally filled that hole for them, and I don't think it's any surprise that they've experienced success.

To me they are the tough matchup come playoff time, more than Miami.
But!  Boozer is not a good defender and never seems to put the effort into it.  Rose is great but Rondo can play him even over a series if not outplay him.  Deng has given PP fits in past years but seems to me last year he couldn't stick with him as well.  Even with Noah back (who I would love to have) they have no  big body to handle our big bodies, power game we win.

Chicago is what we all thought they were going to be, a dangerous team that will be a tough out in the 2nd round where they will face either the C's or Miami, but arent good enough to beat a healthy C's squad, or Miami.

Bulls just dont have enough talent to be considered a elite contender, thats just the truth. They rely too much on Rose, just like Cleveland relied on LeBron. Noah is a garbageman that scores of hustle plays and rebounds, hes not someone you give the ball too and expect him to score.

Boozer has trouble against any PF's with length.

Chicago is just like Cleveland last year. Rose does everything for that team but he isnt as good as LeBron or Wade, we should be able to take the series but it wont be a walk in the park.

I think they can beat MIA but not us if they have all their pieces.  Why worry folks, we will play who we play.  Worry only helps things you can control.  Who will play is not something we can control folks.

They are a young team that plays us tough.  I think they are a more balanced team than MIA but MIA has three big time studs but are a flawed team with redundant parts.
